In redacted I can see the time I glyph hacked, how many links or fields I killed or and how much MU I returned or created in comms. Why isn't any of this available in prime?
The confirmation email format used in redacted looks so much better, clean and simple. The ingress emails are so uncool and unprofessionally done. Please use the same format as redacted. Not a big deal, but you asked what changes you would like to see...so ya...
First off, thank you for taking the time to ask us.
Second, most of what makes it difficult to play prime is visual clarity and also the elegance of redacted.
I miss that things floated serenely like in zero g instead of pulsing and pulling focus. (Some folks report the pulses cause headaches, and this makes me feel sad from an accessibility standpoint)
I do get a kick out of the idea in prime that you can listen to the portals and this has massive potential for intel drops.
I miss the idea that redacted can be played in low signal environments. Truely, ingress shines as a game of exploration, and pushing boundaries. Too many visuals means you’ve climbed that mountain for nothing (strategic) Linking and cubes are faster but that’s not strategic action (more scrolling, searching, visibility, accuracy ) versus urban action (yolo, AP grabs)
i miss that redacted is more playable in a bus/car. I was able to help this by reversing the screen colors so portals were more visible, and flashiness was diminished. But that has some drawbacks as well. 😅
I miss long press menu more than I like one finger rotation....
I don’t need to see magical flame portal images. I miss the opacity of inventory. Anything that distracts, pulls focus, or demands attention could be reconsidered. Clarity and accuracy and speed are my overarching targets.
I can probably get used most of the other controls/functions (inventory feels fiddly and counter intuitive). And the thing that made redacted so compelling to me was it’s its simplicity. The human element was the complicated part. The game is awesome because the players made it complicated And had amazing adventures and friendships in the process.
Mission viewing. Prime doesn't load as many missions as Redacted can, and for some reason when you click on the "more missions" link it takes you to the bottom of the new bunch of missions that load.
Redacted got a fixed point of view, something like 45° and the only change is the zoom lv. Prime got a weird ever changing angle that goes from ground lv pov and verticaly going up until full 2d view from above.
The ground and and sky lv are actually fine and help planing, but is impossible to actually play that way. It's just good to see the whereabouts. And lvs of zoom between those, are weird and awful. Hard to reach the middle term and good point to play. It's like superman was holding a camera next to and just decide to flew up in 100% vertical. A bit more angle would be better imo. Full 2d view from above would be good too, if it was closer.
Another thing I found anoying is the new map looking smaller, making portals look closer to each other. Prime is already a visual mess sometime, with closer portals didn't help at all.
Visibility, especially under the sun. (I would say, playing with Prime during the nighttime is pretty cool, but it's totally a disaster under sunshine)
In no particular order, some of the things I want are:
Greater contrast between road lines and the background. Currently the low contrast (with vaguely purpleish haze) is more difficult to see and looks (in my opinion) cartoonish.
Decaying field holes when a portal is weak. This makes a weak portal easily visible at a distance and Ian just cool on a conceptual level.
The different portal sounds for neutral, Enlightened, and Resistance; I love being able to tell who controls a portal by sound alone. (I will say that I do like the new bits added for L7 and L8 portals in Prime.)
Press and swipe to attack instead of menu clicks.
The ability to select a type of item to look at in inventory instead of playing Ingress Tinder. I know a lot of people say this is faster/better, but the current system already exists in Redacted by choosing “all” in inventory then swiping through everything. I’m really not a fan of having to swipe through every item/every type of item only to then have to do Moreno swiping.
I agree with Glenuendo about the screen in daylight. Although Redacted is difficult to see in daylight, Prime is worse. Many older agents will leave Ingress when Redacted is removed.
Currently, the fields are too dark, it's hard to identify layered fields, and it's hard to identify XM (it needs to be brighter, just like REDACTED).
A save draft feature for nominations
Even though REDACTED doesn't have such feature, it caches when you submit a nomination even if it doesn't get uploaded imediatly, so you can submit even if you don't have a stable connection, and when google syncs it is sent throught once you have a stable connection. (pokemon go nomination process also does that).
This could be implemented in PRIME through a SAVE DRAFT feature, where you go through all the nomination process, and once you are at the submit screen, you would have the option to SAVE DRAFT, and when you open the nomination screen you could be prompted to send your archived nominations if you have any.
@Ravenston sez: Press and swipe to attack instead of menu clicks.
We already have this. Touch the white circle and swipe upwards. It's even quicker than on Redacted because you don't have to wait for the options to appear.
More than the paltry 256 characters in nomination descriptions and additional text. With the character limits, I'm not able to adequately describe why a nomination is historically or culturally significant, that a nomination is a hidden gem or hyper-local spot, or provide additional evidence that the nomination meet the criteria for a high-quality portal.

Portal edit (title, discription),new photo adding
The glyph hacking is much better in redacted :( we cant glyph properly in prime, specially the LVL8 portals
I'd like to be able to sort Portal keys alphabetically by name, please.
Press and hold menu for attacks, deploys, mod deploy/status, portal nominations (submissions), Less button taps to hit menu, scroll to weapons, select weapon, then hit fire. Press/hold- drag to weapons - Press on fire and release.
Click on the key icon of the key and go to the inventory at that key's position.

Has been said tons of times...
Agent statistic share function and portal edits. After those two, I could easily uninstall redacted.
Portal edits (hopefully with the introduction of upgrades for edits as well or “trusted editors”, something that can speed up the process a lot)
faster load time, still way way wayyyyyy slower then scanner. it is getting better though which is nice to see love all the work going on :)

Keylockers should be first in the inventory.
The ability to use the app on my tablet that does not have a GPS chip. (pixel c tablet)

I've heard this effect from multiple agents:
"I can play up for 15 minutes but then i cant read or drive for an hour and might throw up"
Share stats to Agent-Stats or The-Grid

Have you already mentioned the possibility of editing/reporting invalid portals?
You can't run Redacted on a Pixel C, they removed that ability quite a long time back. This thread is about feature parity in Prime

Please add "Quantity" sort mode to portal keys list. It would be very useful when you need remove some excessive keys from inventory.

To be able to use the colour scheme from redacted, or have a more muted colour scheme, that doesnt burn into the back of my eyes.
Redacted had the perfect balance of colours, brightness, contrast.
Remove the 3sec timer when glyphing.
Add an option to disable items received for glyph hacking.

No portal pictures in comms, less flashing graphics.(The pictures are useless) We don't always know portal nearby. Just add unnecessary lag)
