Recursion waiting to be finalized was canceled

I started a recursion process yesterday.
Today, when I wanted to finalize the recursion, the process had been canceled and I had to relaunch it (and wait 4 hours again).
Is there a delay when the process is canceled? There was more than 24h between launching the process and trying to finalize it.
Or else, it was reset because I had to clean the storage space of the ingress app on my android phone to solve a bug, and that did cancel the process.
The recurse process state should not be kept on the phone, but stored on the server.

Thanks for reaching out, @dw235! Once the Recursion process has begun, it should be finalized before the countdown timer(4 hours) ends. If it's not finalized before the timer ends it will be canceled.
What @NianticVK?
No, once started, the recursion can't be finalized until the 4 hours countdown has ended. Then the finalizing is possible.
Or are you saying that there is another invisible countdown of 4 hours at the end of the first and the recursion process is canceled at the end of it (so you can finalize the recursion process between 4h and 8h after having launched it)?
The recursion timer is good for 24 hours once complete (or it may be 24 hours from when you first start the countdown). After that it resets then you have to start it again.
Ok, that was the case here, I started the recursion process more than 24h before wanting to finalize it.
I'll know it for next time.
Thanks 👍
