Community manager! Where are you? We are waiting!
I do not understand something. We have a community manager and a community hanging out on the forum. Why hasn't the manager still started doing his business and responding to messages on the forum? There are still not many topics that appear during one day.
Why is there still no dialogue between customers and the company?
And we also need a company that hears the comments, Because Vanguards and XMA already pass them some of the comments.
We all need a person who will follow the forum and official channels for comments, and pass them on to the company's team, and give us feedback on our requests. But so far there is only silence in response.
Why do other games have this and we don't? Below is an example from a popular mobile game.
May the community manager forgive me for writing on Friday night, but it's just that I and many other agents wanted to know about it for a long time.
Comments
It seems they've been busy in the Bug forum, but I've yet to see much of anything here in the general forums. I'm glad people are getting nl-1331 badges removed, but would love to start seeing some back and forth here as well
They say, the new Community Manager needs some time for onboarding etc etc and THEN it will get better. But it's already been 2 weeks. I still have some patience but it's being drained.
Note: Her.

Onboarding, signing paperwork, learning processes, and more can take a long time. In most cases the ‘trial run’ for a company is 60 to 90 days and you don’t learn everything, and even after that period you don’t learn some processes for even longer.
We are talking about a fairly high position in an international company, so there is probably way more to learn that we aren’t aware of. Have patience, let Thia get used to the new role. Less we lose our Community Manager and have to start the process all over again.
On a side note, I must really commend Thia for stepping into such a role. I’m sure there’s a lot to learn and we look forward to hearing more as you are able to tell us!
As a consumer I don't need to care who has or hasn't probation periods and onboardings, what processes are involved etc. I simply want to see changes for the better as soon as possible after the announcement. Especially when we weren't given any timelines.
I have to agree with this. The Ingress team (Brian) made it sound like the CM was hired a few months ago and would tell us more about them SOON(tm). I figured once Thia was introduced, the onboarding was over and she was ready to engage with the community. Once again, well done with the lack of clear communication Ingress team /s (expect for you ofer2, you're a legend!!!).
She’s doing great, despite what some impatient jerks would say
You've set your expectations too high. The community manager isn't going to do half you what you're asking for.
Wow. That's really nice of you.
Since when you started caring so much about a company which, as it has shown numerous times, couldn't care less about you?
The General forum is "A place to hold general conversations about Ingress with your fellow Agents", although some people use it to try and get Niantic's attention.
She is agent too!
She's also a human being too.
The original posting here in the forums regarding the role included this, “We are looking for someone who is passionate about building communities, loves engaging with other players, and is ready to take the Ingress community to the next level.”
Im ready for the next level, 100%
Not feeling the Next Level®️©️™️ yet. Any signs how would I recognize it?
This will happen when with employment to any work will ask for which fraction you play, and belonging to the fraction will be spelled out with a separate graph in the passport.))) We should make our game great again.
They did make a few posts on the Ingress Reddit last week.
Would be nice however if they participated in the official forums, don't you think?
I'm really, really unhappy that Niantic continue to communicate through a variety of social media, Reddit, Twitter, Instagram and NOT on the official forum.
They dilute their message, a ton of players have no idea there is a Reddit etc.
The forum is tied to the scanner! No link to these others from the scanner.
It contributes massively to the lack of communication issue.
and majority are reading on reddit? i dont think so
Absolutely. Niantic always receive a torrent of complaints when they give youtubers exclusive info in another game, yet they made exactly the same mistake again yesterday.
There is one more thing. As soon as some user posts something unacceptable by the company, for example a photo of certain body parts, they will instantly react to this message, this message will be immediately deleted, and a warning will be issued. But as soon as we want to talk to responsible people about the fact that even in cities with a population of many millions at the height of summer, 5-10 agents are playing ... There is no answer. I am more than sure that even now someone from the moderators is reading me. The company doesn't give a damn about us ordinary users.
It is important to know that the moderation team is exactly that: the moderation team. People like NianticVK or NianticBlue (probably) don't have any insight into the Ingress team, their only task on the forum is to moderate.
Why then this forum? Brian does not read it, the community manager does not read this forum either, and in many other games there is an opportunity to communicate with the developers and ask them a question or convey a wish. We have such a situation that it is easier to reach out to God than to the employees of this company.
60-90 days is the standard timeline. That's what it is for any new employee in a business like this to get fully up to speed in their role. You may not care what all goes into that, but what it means is that it's probably going to take at least that long to start seeing some larger changes from them, and not two weeks.
We got unasked for Dark Mode though :)
Let's hope with "forum improvements" Niantc Ingress staff will actually use it.
We got unasked for Dark Mode though :)
People gave up asking. It wasn't "Unasked".
I don't think they got it right with the dark mode they've implemented. It's not very easy on the eyes either. The boxes containing forum posts with the white text are too dark. I would suggest flipping it with the lighter shade of the background color. The white quote boxes also look bad against the dark background. The quote boxes should be a lighter shade of similar color, but not white. Also not a fan of how clunky and big the promoted content looks on the main page, and the burgundy colored buttons just looks like it doesn't match. Definitely room for improvement.
I agree that it needs more CSS work. Especially the comment boxes being unchanged, but as at least an option, Dark Mode is a good thing, and fits the Ingress aesthetic.
I would prefer if there was an option to turn it off, I liked how it was before and this one is really not nice to look at
I think a switch is an option inside vanilla. I'd probably stick with the light theme until this one is sorted out if I could. I think it's close, but needs some dialing in. Shoulda had those XMAs beta test it before going public :P :P
