Are banned accounts able to visit this community?
As the title says, is being banned from Ingress translated into being banned here?
If not, why not?

I have never considered that. Aren't they separate in one sense where the website doesn't bring with it agent details?
As far as we know, there's only the initial import of agentname. But that still begs the question if that initial import checks for account status.
The site was viewable without being logged in, I don't know if that's changed, but if it hasn't then being banned would be irrelevant.
When the community launched there were some agents that were able to deduce that bamned accounts were not able to post. Iirc they exist within the users base of the forum but some sort of message isndisplayed on the profile to indicate that they are banned.
Found the original post where it was discussed. Not sure if its been fixed or not.

Seeing as people are complaining about being banned in one of the general topics, it seems they can still have access (and no banned tag)
Why they should be banned here? There is no 100% warranty that they are guilty. Do you want to remove or block their Reddit account too?
Niantic doesn't have any control over Reddit in terms of banning. I doubt that r/Ingress was even started by someone from Niantic (I could be wrong about that).
No it wasn't, and even if it was, it's against Reddit rules to control a subreddit of your own product.
That's not entirely accurate.
But to answer the original question in the most non-explicit way... it depends.
Does it depend on whether they were banned before first login?
Since clearly newly banned agents who already were active here, still are.

You mean people only have one account in this game? Lol .
