Forced Drone Recall status
Do we really need that one? Can it serve another purpose somehow?
We don't have any similar for portals, resonators, mods, links and fields that we've lost, so why one like that for drones? People who don't use drones will keep it at zero, the one who just hack isolated farm also will be really low, and what possible we could accomplish by having a high rate at this?
There's many other possibities for a drone status, ones that could actually mean something, like unique visits in a row (without force recall) and total distance flight (cumulative distance between portals), etc

The way I see it, this is just Niantic trying to get hunters back in the game along with a new hunt game for agents that never met it.
As having the drone deployed carries no progress rather than the Maverick badge (whic is fairly easy to get), the toxic implications of getting drones hunted is not a dangerous thing and because of this they promoted this stat.
I see no problem at all with this stat, although I'd keep it with no badge since recalling your own drone also counts.
Promoting badges for destructive stats in a game that is about building is not a good plan if you intend to get a game too "agressive", which has been their plan for several years. They placed one for resonators to incentivate agents to "clear" play areas instead of just leaving them to rot (for a week).
I actually meant about the status that count how many drones you lost, not the new one that count how many you destroyed (that one can stay). The problem is that destroying your own dron also counts.
I see. Yes, about that one I don't find it very useful either. Perhaps that could be for some sort of K/D ratio?
Just tought about this earlier on another thread, maybe that's why it exist, like a possible badge being on the ratio between the two, but still feels redundanct.
Just one for destroy of rival faction's drones would be better.
This would reveal if a player is getting their star ticked by killing their own drone over and over.
I wonder how...
2000 Drones Recalled / 2000 Forced Drone Recalls would be really suspiciuous.
You can also get your drone recalled if the portal it's on decays
What if I just go **** down a drone every time mine gets shot? Same ratio!
Then the second status is useless and should be removed.
Ingress has many stats that do not translate into badges. Ingress has many stats which are essentially pointless, in the same way.
etc.
Just because a stat exists doesn't preclude other stats being included, and not every stat has to translate into a badge. Some are just interesting pointers that some people might enjoy building their own metagames out of.
The biggest example that comes to mind is Furthest Drone Distance. By the logic above, it's "useless and should be removed".
Furthested drone distance is an accomplishment, a record.
Number of drones lost is just data.
Why not add too number of portals lost? It's the same useless data.
So what you're saying is "I like some stats because they're relevant to me, and I think anything not relevant to me should be removed".
Some people would consider it an accomplishment to send more drones home than they get sent home. Don't discount everyone else, just because you don't see a use.
The stat does not prevent any other stats from being added, and is simply a datapoint that different people may use differently. There's no point removing it, because removing it won't "make room" for some other stat.
I've force recalled my own drone more than 100 times. Why is that suspicious? It's just something harmless that I thought would be interesting to do.
"I like some stats because they're relevant to me, and I think anything not relevant to me should be removed".
Just like to point out that that sentence is pretty much your own opinion about many things in this community, including drones related discussion, mainly when people discussed the possibility of badges (which you disagreed, but now love), so it feels quite redundant to me to keep up discussions.
Don't discount everyone else, just because you don't see a use.
Its really weird. I not sure if I became you or you became me. Let's just have fun, make some fields, rave for onyx maverick and wait for the badge of unique drone visits.
mainly when people discussed the possibility of badges (which you disagreed, but now love)
You keep characterizing this as "love" across multiple threads. A badge exists, therefore it's to be completed. It's not love or hate, but rather acceptance that Niantic makes choices we disagree with and when they do, you accept those that don't negatively impact your own experience.
Kinda like when Niantic adds a stat that in no way affects you. Disagreeing with creating the stat is one thing. Arguing that it should be removed again despite having no effect on your own ability to play... is literally the thing here.
Its really weird. I not sure if I became you or you became me. Let's just have fun, make some fields, rave for onyx maverick and wait for the badge of unique drone visits.
I can disagree with things I think are wasteful development time. Once they are developed, there's no point arguing to generate more wasteful development time to remove something that doesn't negatively impact you.
Most of my disagreements are about whether something is worth doing. There are a handful of true arguments about whether doing something will negatively impact the game, like links under fields. But many ideas are just "not going to do what people want, but if Niantic chooses to do it, so be it."
The drone distance depends on the portal network around you. Also, we know if you have the key to a portal your drone is on, it provides extra range for a drone to travel.
Its actually the other way around, you get up to 1250m if you have the key of target portal. I'm gonna make a key route to short my way through the center of my city, since at each recall I spent over a day hoping, but I can short it to 6-7 hours.
Keys generate 'extra loaded data', because the "Remote Portal View" is just the game view with a moved camera. Though some have mentioned it helps to actually remotely view the portal key before trying to move as sometimes you get even more portals due to caching.
