I think your first picture isn't too bad if you remove the lines inside, the one you have would take at least nine moves and it's not particularly easy to work that out right away, but remove the inside lines and it's a fairly easy 7 moves but would still be a bit time consuming
I worked out how to do it, but thats cause i had time to look at it static, imagine an agent sees that for the first time in the middle of a 4 or 5 sequence, they would never manage it. Plus star can also be done in 7 moves and is very simple to do even at first glance

Great idea!
My proposals:
Also, for the sequences:
Does it need to be overly complex?
The question is not "Why not?" but "Why?". Status quo wins unless presented with reasons.

I kinda like the second one here. It looks like a drone to me, and it doesn't seem too hard to draw, after you think about it some.
It's less harder than "star".
What about this one:

Personally I would like to see more glyphs added.
Mixes things up a bit.
A drone glyph would be fab
Ironically I have only begun to get used to the Osiris glyph. :)
Hard is nice.
BTW for those drawing glyphs, here's a useful site: https://gm9.github.io/ingress-glyph-tools/example-glyph-image-maker.html
