Communities like to design their own swag clothes, I guess is not worth the invesment. But I'm sure it would be sold out if an official shirt was released.
In the early days, when I lived in a "non-shipping" country, I literally got white T-Shirts printed with the ENL logo on the back in a large image, and on the front breast pocket. Simple and easily distinguishable.
I used to wear these whenever going to meet a noob agent, because it made it real easy for them to identify me and choose whether they were comfortable to say Hi, or run screaming from the crazy nerds.
Sometimes, plan and straightforward is useful. And the original Niantic ENL T-shirt was even plainer, because it was khaki with an ENL logo about 3 inches high, and nothing else.

I don't mean any disrespect, but the design is too bland/plain. Recently commissioned someone to design our shirt for ops.
I think that's appeal for some. I find minimal or "plain" to be more my style.
Huge pass on some of the "art" I've seen produced for events and ingress groups.
Depends on what sizes are available

Some like the minimalist approach while others prefer unique designs like the link below.
