Totally irrelevant, we are discussing the sojourner that some lost here due to technical reasons beyond agents fault and niantic cant restore for those unlucky not even managed login. I stil think this badge has made its point, now we have drones anyway they should give us a new badge instead and close this one. New agents will never catch up the leaders 2000+days anyways,,,
It's illogical and ridiculous that because Niantic Support generally won't help restore the hacking streak for players affected, and new agents can never catch up the leaders so that the sojourner badge should entirely retired and make those leaders no longer leaders.
According to this way of thinking, Founder badge should be cancelled as well because new agents can never obtain, and some in-game mission badges should be removed as well if those missions are offline and Niantic Support can't make them online again without help of authors? While Founder players and Sojourner leaders and mission fans did nothing wrong. How could you launch your suggestion by depriving them of a healthy source of pleasure? That's mean.
The badge has been available since 2015. They know there will be a small group dedicated to maintaining that streak. It's just what Ingress players attracts with stat gathering. I would hope there's a simple script to maintain the streak active versus having to manually add a value. I would imagine it's done with the Unix epoch because we know the time when a day is incremental adjusts for DST.
Retire the badge when the last person with a streak from Day 1 loses the badge. 😉
I lost mine at 857 a few years ago because I was dead tired the day after a 16 hour farm build of the entire region. I was upset at the time, but now I'm glad it happened. It has been liberating not having to care about that streak anymore.
Wow, all the times I've been told Niantic CAN'T do it and here we are. Mine was lost at 304 days due to no ones fault but Niantics and I got nothing but copy paste responses. Such BS. (Here is my case number from September if anyone wants to look into it, I'd be over 500 days at this point. 9916404)
I'm glad you got yours fixed, it's ridiculous that the forums seem to be the only way to get issues resolved anymore...
I hack each morning and each evening as part of a routine and have never had any issues maintaining Sojourner. It helps if you know what time your original hack was so you know what time of day your Sojourner checks.

The only argument to bring is that Niantic offered maintaining the hack streak alive for agents who attended Mission Day at Sea
We just had Niantic also offer to remove the NL1331 tiered badge for people who didn't want it from last week.
Perhaps have a topic dedicated to adjusting agent's sojourner streaks after acknowledged widespread server issues?

I think it's more Niantic won't versus can't

Today I received mail from Niantic saying that my sojourner streak was restored.
I want to say thanks to Niantic support.
I hope the black screen bug is localized and will be fixed.
I'm genuinely surprized.
You're lucky :)
I am also happy to hear it, congratulations on this good news

I have lost my streak, YET AGAIN, when I am having 2x per day. I have alarms on my phone to make sure I don't space it.
@NianticBlue What do I need to do for you to correctly count them???
Losing it after 40+ days is frustrating to be sure as I my case. I can't imagine the people who are 200+ trying to get the Black Badge.
You're hacking, Drone or In Person, not just recharging right?
