Lost my sojourner streak at day 1703 because my account was not accessible for 18 hours
I have lost my sojourner streak at day 1703 because I had the issue described in this bug report:
How/where can I ask Niantic to recover my sojourner streak?
Suggestion for other agents who are trying to maintain their sojourner streak: leave some free space in your inventory and keep unused passcode because it seems now the only working escape from the "black screen" issue is to redeem passcode via intel map. I was unable to use this workaround because my inventory was above 2000.

😐️ it happened before, Niantic always reacted that they can't fix it.

It won't help.
Sad that we have such a critical thing as hacking streak ending through the fault of Niantic (the agent did nothing wrong) yet there's no option to continue it.

Oh, how dare you attribute it to the fault of Niantic and start criticizing. Niantic has been very, very hard-working but for privacy reasons they just can't let us know. You might very likely get your comment or posts closed like this as a formal response from Niantic:
For privacy reasons OP may not tell what he/she has done. Note that not all forum posts reporting problems may indicate "not have contacted Support". Based on knowledge comprehended by users on the forum upon doing business with Niantic throughout these years, OP must have contacted Ingress Support, talked to Vanguards in local area, or take other appropriate actions before coming here.
Yes, I contacted support. After 9 hours conversation (each their answer took more than an hour) their answer was "Despite our best attempts, we are not able to reproduce this issue and we haven't received widespread reports of this problem. However, we'll share your inputs with our team for investigation. If any information is needed, we'll contact you."
Sorry to hear that your sojourner streak stopped for unexpected reasons but I can assure you that it won't be recovered. It's not that I don't hope it not to be recovered, it's just won't be done by Niantic Support because nobody has successfully got help on such case.
If I were you I will try to collect and invite people to paste their customer support ticket reference number here and prove that it's by no means "haven't received widespread reports of this problem", because I can see that in Bug report section there are already many players complanining about this problem, and then see if Niantic could make an exception for you once. However you will, most likely, get your post closed without explanations simply because of your proving that what Niantic Support says is contradicting the fact we can see.
It was one of those very widespread problems... Support just missed the connection between 'black screen, not beeing able to log in' and 'i missed my streak because i couldn't hack'. That's why it would be better if at least some 'helpsdesk' employees would be active players
so that they would be more willing to help solve the problem that is beyond their responsibility and payroll?

Agree with you. However from my personal perspective the main task for Niantic Support, or let's say what they do, is to reply something to players who report any type of problems, instead of helping to solve problems. Usually "something" equals automatic standard template reply. You know what I mean.
That's why OP got responded by "we haven't received widespread reports of this problem". How widespread is widespread? If they helpdesk agents are not even Ingress players then how could they "make attempts to reproduce the issue" when they don't have the game clients to launch on their own smartphones?
Sorry for your streak sojourner stopped, learn from your current problem, at least we have to get used to so that the supply is not full in order to do an alternative solution to this black screen in the future, like the advice of other agents that you write in the post.

I don't know where is "customer support ticket reference number". Probably it is the same as "Conversation ID"?

sucks to hear :( many agents on TG has posted all weekend of black screen login issues and game not working, clearly something has and is broken since a few days ago.. not sure what the issue is if its related to specific phones or server ??
Have you told them you couldn't log in the app because of the blank screen issue?
If you do read the not many posts regarding this issue
you will instantly realize that it's device-unrelevant.
If you see many agents on TG posting black screens then you may encourage them to land here to post the customer support conversation ID to let Ingress team know that it's obviously a widespread issue that they should not miss and Niantic Support should not reply with players the automatic hollow template saying that they could not reproduce such "rare case", making players more upset.
No objections to automatic template = No improvement forever. Let's start from doing minor things for the change.

From my experience this is server issue. When I had this issue I tried to access my account on two very different devices without luck. But another account worked fine on both those devices.
It is an ongoing problem. Today I tried doing some drone hacks, but all I got was a black screen.
I as well lost a streak once because of Niantic, was told they couldn't do anything about it. My bitterness levels increased 50% that day for sure. 304 days, poof.
I've been experiencing the black screen issues the last day or two and have seen other reports in our local chats. I wish I had some other advice or hope for you, but unfortunately, Ingress continually finds ways to burn their agents and give them ways to quit the game.

they should imo, im not a big fan of this badge either, only creates anxiety.. fun lose a long hack streak out of your control :(
I agree, since Niantic can't handle such a difficult thing as stable access to the game, the badge should either
1) be retired
2) be restorable through support so you could continue after some gap due to technical reasons
3) automatically tick a day if that day had technical problems which could prevent agents continuing their streaks (that would burn people looking for beautiful numbers however)
You're well beyond Onyx/Black for the badge. You're free. You can stop worrying about it.

Seriously, people need to learn to let go of these numbers. They aren't achieving anything. They will not get a special surprise in game. There won't be any awards given. No Presidential Medal of Freedom will be granted.
It's numbers in a game. Learn to let go.
I strongly disagree with retiring the badge.
I do agree with Niantic having the ability to restore a streak if the loss was caused from game down time on their end.
According to your logic, factions should be retired either, for those who are not big fan of PvP, RES and ENL division only creates anxiety, and everything creates anxiety should be retired, ultimately this entire game.
