Oh, that's the one situation where I have personal experience of watching the other team say "We're going to stop playing, because we can't compete with your P8s, and we want to farm yours" 😂
@Perringaiden I think you're missing the point. It's not "We should intentionally lose the cycle because it will make it easier to win the next cycle" for players who don't care about winning cycles. if the losers get increased hack output then it's "We should lose all the cycles so we get more gear." The meta point is that if you create a perverse incentive then you'll get perverse behavior that takes advantage of that incentive.
please no, green/blue xm is nearly invisible under fields.
Plus cell score doesn't mean anyhing now with the lack of players and competition. It's just who have a non accessible portal as anchor or field where there are no enemy nearby.
I think this is a great idea but it needs to be well designed.
The main issue is visibility inside a field. If the XM color and field color match, they should be still well visible without additional effort. Should run this idea through a graphics designer and see if they come up with something.
On the psychological part of it, I see many agents express how this would be "disheartening" or something. But I don't think that it will have a greater effect than seeing a opposite faction field over your town or seeing your faction performing worse overall. It's not really gonna effect anyone that much aside from maybe giving a slightly bigger incentive to actually go out there and do stuff beneficial to your faction, as well as something to brag about when it is your faction color.
I figured as much that it was a global thing. I'm operating on an intro to programming level of tech speak but I would imagine it would be a matter of creating an if-else statement along with coding a local client mechanism to query cell location, query last cycle's winner, then execute a color change of XM that already exists. Which would be overridden if the global tag is enabled for say, pride celebration.
I still want option to buy a certain xm color, maybe its not even possible ? but i would buy if it was an option, purple xm when that comes back i dont look forward ugh...
I don't like this idea.Let's imagine a cell under BAF,so XM will be less visible.Or lets imagine a cell dominated by opposite team,it will a bit disadvantage to even open scanner.
Actually i'd like xm to be Redacted-style or as an option rainbow-style.Others look not so good
The boost i gave for.losing wasn't big though, like 1% boost on large fields wouldnt put much of a difference on the score, and extra bister damage i meant like an extra 1% on top of what it would do, so again, not much. Winning would still reward extra but nothing to effect the game, extra items (not much) or extra ap won't hurt the other team
I'd rather award fireworks to the people at the top of the MU-creation and MU-destruction leaderboards. That conveys no competitive advantage other than a tiny amount of AP, and lets them throw their own fireworks party wherever and whenever they want. It also rewards the people who made the most effort, for the most part.
I dislike this, as it will appear to the losing faction as bullying and harassment. Particularly if said faction constantly wins.
Particularly in places where perma BAFs are still an issue.
However, I do like the general premise to show to the player which faction won the last Septicycle. Perhaps, a notification pop up on the first login of the new Septicycle?
Appearing just once, it wouldn't feel less like harassment, more of a reminder or incentive to compete. But if players are under a permanent BAF, they can ignore this and continue playing.

The concept that "We should intentionally lose the cycle, because it'll make it easier to win the cycle" is weird.
not if there's an anomaly coming up

And no spoofers around ;)

What about fireworks and faction beacon being automatically deployed on the most used portals or just randomly, like one at each volatile portal?
No fireworks! The sound is awful.

Them make it show and sound only to the losers!😂
"it will appear to the losing faction as bullying and harassment"
Uhh... No. That's not even close to the bar for either definition? Please tell me this is a troll post. 🤨
No. That is how I would feel if I would be playing Ingress dominated by the other faction.
Definitely not a troll post
