Thank you Ingress team! Instantly fell in love with this feature and spent way too much time reviewing places I've journeyed to throughout these past eight years.
First, this is amazing. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Major QOL improvement. Can't overstate how amazing this is.
However, there does seem to be a bug in the scout controller output - it's showing portals that I captured prior to the scout controller badge rolling out. This isn't a huge issue for me as I know which portals I scanned prior to the scout controller badge coming out, but I just wanted to flag it in case others get confused.
But again, thank you! This is such a welcome improvement!
The Layers button to toggle unique Portal visits, captures, and Scout Controlled Portals is coming soon. We wanted to get this out to Agents as soon as it was ready so we could start collecting more feedback and suggestions on ways to continue to improve it.
We've already heard suggestions from Vanguards about adding an Invert button to Intel Map to allow Agents to see the Portals they haven't yet visited, and we're working on this.
Additionally, Vanguards also discussed suggestions for additional layers in the future, for example Drone activity.
Could we have the inverse aswell: highlight the uncaptured portals. Now it still takes an enormous effort to find the hand full of portals that one didn't capture in the city between the several thousands of portals.
Thank you so so much for this @NianticBrian and @ofer2 (and everyone else involved in this work). This is AMAZING!
I was already excited about subscriptions but this new development takes that excitement to the next level. So in the words of the wise person who once said and I quote: "SHUT UP AND TAKE MY MONEY!"
Looking through the map and this is totally awesome. Seems to maybe have some missing data. I know there's a couple of portals near my house that I guarantee I have hacked and captured. But they don't have rings around them. But all in all the few that I might have to go back and do it again or not going to cause any gripes

Setting the new "Layers" filter to "None" will also remove the Volatile Scout Portal icons from the map.
@ofer2 and whoever else on the team worked on this:

EDIT: This issue seems to have been fixed now
Try creating a bug report, it seems like that would be best to get their attention.
Thank you for this update Niantic! I hope soon another layer will be added for portals visited by drone?
this is YUGE

Halleluja!
Awesomeness! Thanks for this! Already checking out the city and plotting some captures.
@NianticBrian @ofer2 I am off to fly down to the Wellington, New Zealand First Saturday.
Having been down there not so frequently, this feature is fantastic, and especially, will be super engaging.
Thank you so much for this, Brian!!! 😍🤩
That’s excellent. Looking forward to seeing it in the app too, when we get the next update
Maybe a vain thing, but a filter to show Portals that you discovered would be nice.
