Sound used for decay is the same as attacks.

This is probably more of an oversight than a true bug, but Prime provides audio feedback for attacks and provides audio feedback for decay.

But the audio feedback for natural daily decay, sounds like someone attacking your portals. Decay does not cause explosions. Decay does not cause mods to die. Decay should not sound like an attack.

My suggestion would be something like the De-ath Star Shields powering down sound.

  • Frackers that burn out should do this as well. The visual effect for both of these should either be distinct from attack damage or do nothing at all.

    I suspect that what's happening is that Prime is providing feedback, visual and audio, for perceived changes in a portal's state, regardless of what caused that state change and when that state change actually happened. There's nothing like tapping into an area, seeing and hearing explosions, freaking out that someone's attacking RIGHT THIS INSTANT, and then realizing that it's all just decay from a few hours ago.

    It's a bug that visual and audio feedback doesn't distinguish between causes, and it's a bug that feedback doesn't distinguish between events that happened right this instant and events that happened at some undetermined time in the past.
