Why can't they have normal human-readable prices like $10, $2, $5, $20, $50, $100,$ 5, $1?! Why do they have to scoop to scamy tactics like that? 👎 Show respect for your players and treat them like valued customers, not suckers to exploit with such prices.
I'm under the impression that an app developer doesn't set prices, per se, for any of their in-app purchases. What they set is a "tier", which Apple and Google translate into some fixed amount in the purchaser's currency of choice. So, blame Apple and Google, I guess. 🤷♂️
I've seen games offer different tiers of subscriptions. AFK Arena has a nice way of implementation subscriptions that don't seem too crazy and priced right. (lowest one is like $2-3/month)
To be honest none of them seems worth, but the 200 is a joke.
I won't be paying it monthly, but I might pick it once in a while during game events or lot of free time.
Niantic just lost a massive opportunity to release this before the anniversary week. Extra 1000 slots were really necessary during those days, specially for the players that did a speedrun from 1 to 16 in just a couple of hours.
I think @kamilus83 was referring to the price tiers ($0.99 / $1.99 / $4.99 etc.), not to subscription tiers.
Back to the topic of "deceptive" pricing by calling it $0.99 instead of $1.00, that's a common technique in the US and many other countries because too many consumers are math challenged. What I find the most idiotic is the fact that gas prices in the US ends with 9/10 of a cent.
I rather prefer a payment like they do with keylockers. Pay x cmu for x inventory capacity that you can keep, limit the max increase and rase that limit over x time... But we will see, maybe this thing will be better than we think
I wonder what c.o.r.e. means - anyone knows bychance?
And - yes I am also more pro one-time paying - in fact about every free app I use regularly and which has a paid upgrade (but not subscription) is paid on my phone. Kind of the old shareware concept whcih I do like.
In PokemonGo it would be the upgrade you pay when you need it, up to a max.
I won't be purchasing the subscription, except maybe for a single month just to get the badge. Niantic does not deserve my money lately; in my eyes they did a poor job in developing and fixing the app, in support, in communication (props to legendary ofer2). I'm also infuriated that there are NO global/individual challenges and events (bonuses? don't need those) for more than half a year, while the other game gets a lot of them.
I only hear lots of "yes we should do this and that and better do those" but I see little action.
You do realize you can just buy more CMU each time you want to "give Ingress your money", right? Spend $5 a month, or $5 a week, or go BIG and do the $99.99 pack once a paycheck.
You can currently support them, you might just not be getting what you want outta the deal, but you can give them your monies. 😋

Most app games with in app purchasing and even most stores (In the US as I can only speak for my own country) do the .99 cent thing.

Let's have some fun coming up with what C.O.R.E. stands for.
My weak attempt: carry oodles (of) resources everyday
Maybe it’s Corrupted Overflow of Recurse Energy.
Be interesting to see when it launches.
I wonder if more tiers, 4.99 is the starting maybe highest will be 8.99 or so ?
AppStore policy. Game develper can't change tiers of in-app purchases.
"Give us your effin money" ...... might not be the words that line up, but I'd guess that's their thought behind it lol

I wonder how many % voted for each inv ..
I hope that before this they will solve the spoofers problem cause, for sure, no one will pay a subscription for a game that cannot play...

200,500 or 1000 more inventory?
Spoofers and bad actors will always find a way to cheat. If you enjoy the game, then the cost of Subscription may be worth it.
Myself, i'll be signing up for subscription regardless, because I enjoy Ingress more than any other ARG, and I have played many.
You keep the change for the free wayfarer work.
I agree that it should have launched for the anniversary week. Offer everyone a free trial for that week, and try and hook people in.
Test for free is nice. Spotify,Netflix and more company have it for subscription for free 1 month or more.
They could also offer a daily package. I would buy just for FS. Stocking 3000 lv1 resonators 😎

CORE (******* Operations Realtime Engine) is already an acronym at my job currently so that's where my brain goes.
It could just become Chaotic Operations Realtime Engine or maybe Currency Operations Realtime Engine?
I'm unsure how the respective app stores can enable that. I'm sure it's there within the API for billing.
All this is great, but the question is... when?
When do we get it?
When can we start supporting the game we're all playing?
When can we actually see a real benefit?
@NianticBrian "Shut up and take our money!"
Well 8 years badge is out now , so perhaps this is the next thing for niantic to release..
How about they release it when they actually take action against spoofers. There are a lot of threads popping up recently because of this.
He is already shut up!
But he's not taking our money!
