Will there be an option to have more than 1 capsule soon? Even not "VR" ones, but just normal ones so we can run 9 at a time like PoGo?
When you say that walking tracking has been adjusted, does that mean a net reduction or increase in tracking distance? Or simply that it tracks while the app is foregrounded, instead of tracking point to point?
Why are the announcement threads always posted with Comments Off? Wouldn't it be better to have the discussion there (or make a repost in General to discuss, headed by NianticOfficial)?

Adventure Sync is not part of this release, but we have updated how distance tracking is measured to be consistent with other Niantic games (when Adventure Sync isn’t enabled).
In the future, additional Programs for other items may be discovered through the Portal Network, and Rare or Very Rare Kinetic Capsules that can affect walking distance requirements may become available as paid, consumable items in the Ingress Store.

Already noticed one annoying thing. It doesn't take the 6000XM when you start it. It insists on reserving 6000XM which is in your tank but not available. Which on level 9 at present means I can't use even level 6 powercubes without wasting some

It could likely be done fairly, but the cost and distance required would need to be ludicrous. Multiple agents pooling SBUL reserves ludicrous. VRLAs are strategic-level items, after all.
I wonder why Niantic didn't make different KMs for different recipes, and kapsule rarity would mean the multiplier (for example VR kapsule = x0.5 distance required)… This way we could have more recipes for "cheaper" items like hypercubes also. Otherwise it is unimaginable for, say, hypothetical Hypercube recipe to take the same 8 kms as it takes for a SBUL.
Yup, I know, it appears as green in the inventory and they mentioned that maybe we'll have rare and very rare if we pay for them. But I swear I saw the three pink lines when I acquired it, hence I'm mentioning Brian to let him know about the visual bug.
Also, in Castilian Spanish it was translated as Cápsula Kinetic, instead of Cápsula cinética, which would be the correct translation.

Overall, I've got to say, this seems reasonably balanced. It's a nice balance of effort / reward yielding a reliable trickle of some of the more useful hard-to-get gear (VR MH, VR HS, SB UL) but not enough of a source as to deprecate community coordination / pooling.
Even factoring in people who would throw their wallet at a stack of VR KCaps, assuming the walking reduction isn't overly-done, it's a fair balance of effort, cost, and yield.
Well done, Niantic. I don't have any criticisms to make about this one.
I'm very excited about these new capsules. I also think adding this gameplay feature in will help balance the drone - dronehacking counting toward sojourner removed a motivator to get out and walk, but this adds in a new one.

I'm currently doing 7-8kms per night, and will probably up it to ensure the 8kms now, so I'd love to be able to pump up 9 of these.
VR HS and MH have been the bane of my existence since forever. I have dozens of Rares I never use though.

There used to be a linking bundle in the store with 25 rare Link Amps, but I’m not seeing it anymore.

@NianticBrian when you acquire the capsule in the store it appears as a very rare item (3 pink lines), then in the inventory it appears as green.

I noticed I can edit the name of the kinect capsule. I think this is weird since there's only one and I can see whatp program it is running.
Wonder if we will be able to buy more commons and if there will be a limit of kinect capsule (like the 9 eggs on Pokemon Go).

It's a Common capsule. They mentioned VR and Rare in the post.
The pink is the horrible design decision they made when you hack something and before it disappears it "pink mists". Same as every single hack.
