@Jo0Lz could you change the title of your thread to indicate that we're talking about intel map please? at the moment I find it confusing with the game.
I added [INTEL error message]. And yeah, it is confusing. The error message we get, paired with instructions that makes no sense... This whole thing is confusing. It does impact the game, as we can't send comms messages.
It took a day for Niantic @NianticBrian to reply to the former ban wave, hope they see this one fast. This is really annoying, and very frustrating that I got a strike for nothing (or nothing I believe of).
Someone in the IITC TG group said that somewhere on TG he had seen a vanguard mention NIA OPS is investigating. Let's hope we get some update here soon.
Has anyone who's received this message seen an email from Niantic (not in relation to any appeal you filed), or any change in Ingress itself (apart from loss of comms)? I find it totally odd they issue strikes (if that's the case) without any actual explanation. At the end of the day this is a game, and Niantic are sure doing their level best at the minute to alienate the base. I'm L16 and have only been playing for a couple of years, but this certainly makes me wonder if they really care about their base... I'm not so wedded to Ingress that I wouldn't walk away if they can't sort this out quickly. An apology to all those affected would be nice too, but that's probably pushing it considering how opaque they are in general.
FWIW I have not updated to iOS 14 and I can use intel just fine, so it's probably some new privacy feature that's been put in place on 14. Sounds like Redacted and Android Q.
We had a discussion in a telegram group where I asked if it was safe to upgrade to iOS14 a few days ago and everyone said it was safe and that Niantic had released a version for iOS14 now that was good. So I installed and everything looked fine.
Today someone asked if it's still working for me. I hadn't had any problems but when i checked intel I got the message:

Sojourner on 2029, hope this isn't the end of it. I can still write in comm and use the scanner on my Android. To scared to try on my iPhone atm.
No communication at all. No reply here, no reply on reddit since the initial message to try again and no e-mails. The only message is the one we see when we access the intel site, they instruct us to open Ingress Prime for updates, but you don't get any messages.
i am adding myself to the list of people impacted. And symptoms where I updated to iOS14 and now my Intel access is suspended. Happened yesterday which seems to align with the other reports. I questioned it via web chat and got the precanned response so have lodged an appeal
Well, they want their users to use this forum, I'm not going to create a ban appeal when they are so terribly misinformed themselves. Those responses that we've used modified software are not going to help my anxiety. xD
Same issue here, I upgraded to ios14 on the day of release, got the message when trying to open IITC earlier. Can't use stock intel, but game launches and I can charge as normal.
I made a first ticket to the support at 12:33pm quoting the link of this thread, they closed it without any answer!! I opened a second ticket at 12:41pm and the support just closed the ticket again without any answer...... Cc @NianticBrian@NianticCasey@NianticAndres@NianticAustin@NianticBC
I think internally they are not sure how to handle this. But because they are telling people they have used modified software, I suspect that in the system we are indeed flagged as breaking ToS.
It's a little sad their support system can't set their open tickets to pending whilst they investigate. They should at least have a human create a response so we know what is going on, really.

Same message. It seems I ban from Intel . No mail from Niantics prime is ok. On IOS14 .

I'm sure that they'll correct that; it's a false positive.

You can still hack for your sojourner. I only use my iOS 14 device and I'm still able to play.
Could very well be. Only thing I don't understand is why we have an Intel ban when it's caused by iOS.

Yes, it was recommended to me that we should be filing appeals - which I've done.
