Multiple agents banned unexpectedly at the same time

I am reporting this on behalf of two agents who cannot log into the forum themselves because they got their Ingress accounts terminated around 7:40-8:20 AM UTC today (Sep 16). We also know of at least one agent from the opposing faction hit with a ban within the same time period.
All received emails notifying of account termination within several minutes of each other.
The Resistance agents are sheisatelephone and legggus. Neither one of them cheated in any way. One plays on iOS 13.6.1 and Ingress Prime 2.55.1, the other on Android and Prime 2.54.

What we know so far: different operative system and devices. Different levels of activity, some claim to be afk for months, some player this weekend. Both factions affected.
I was banned on the 16th as well. I have a new Note 10. Don't have any GPS apps I played on the 14th and again on the 15th around 8:30 or so, then at 3:30 am on the 16 I recieved and email saying my account had been terminated.
Since you're listing the things you don't have, do you have any extra backpack accounts, or do you share a device or network with any other accounts?
Given that accounts that haven't been used in a year are being banned, its very unlikely to be something you did in the last week.
Other Niantic accounts I have are ,Harry Potter and Pokémon. And I have been playing my ingress account several times this month and the last.
It's over the past two and half years, not just the last week or month. I know of multiple people have been picked up despite not playing for more than a year.
If you've appealed and they're not reversing it, you're likely out of luck.
acc sharing is also a reason they ban even if it was years ago...
I was more active last year. This year was a slow due to work and Covid. But I would manage to play a little every month. Also I don't share accounts.
We’ve recently taken action on accounts that have violated our TOS based on ongoing internal investigations aimed at promoting fair gameplay. An update will be shared in the next few days on the impact of the actions. I already submitted an appeal, should I write another one? Will it even be looked at?
These agents need to submit an appeal on their own. Posting on the forums on their behalf won't do anything. Niantic doesn't review forum posts for ban appeals.
