Will niantic ever update the game map?
will niantic ever update the game map? the two cities that I play have grown a lot in the last few years and it is strange to play in a place where in the game it seems to be in the middle of nowhere. I did a search to find out which map was used as a base for the games and I saw that in OpenStreetMap the city has a well updated mapping, is there an update frequency or any future update plan for the maps within the games?

it seems the OSM map doesnt update very often for some reason... not sure why? it shouldnt take several years between updates.....
I think that, if memory serves me correctly, between 2016 and 2017 was the last update with the map. They never have a date for the next update, and it's not on their priority list, you just have to wait.
Updating the OSM tiles takes no effort if I remember correctly.
like many of the things that involve niantic, the biggest effort is already made, by players or in this case volunteer mappers
The scoring heatmap has never been updated, using the same data since 2011.
Its weird to be fielding in an established suburb, or a small fringe city has become quite large, yet the scoring remains the same and those areas score so low it is almost pointless to get MU
here there is a city where a field covering the entire city generates less than 5k m.u.
There an update frequency or any future update plan for the maps within the games?
For clarification:
If you mean the base-map used to display on the ground, it's regularly updated.
If you mean the MU density patterns, no, they're never going to update those.
