Idea for DroneNet Drones MK 1 - 8
Here's an idea for dronenet drones.
Please note that every drone will have the features of the other drones,
You will get a leveled up drone when you level up, (eg, MK 2 drone for Agent Level 2)
MK 1
You have this, Hack portals
MK 2
Hack portals, it does not take as long for the portal to cool down
MK 3
Recharge the portals with your drone, install 1 resonator every 24 hrs
MK 4
Takes 30 mins instead of 1 hr to move around this one.
MK 5
Install 2 resonators every 24 hours
MK 6
Create links with this drone, cannot attack portals
MK 7
Now you can make a small LV 1 Ultra strike on a portal
MK 8
Same thing, level 2

MK9 Full spoofing features.
Instead of copying existing gameplay actions and approximating to spoofing, it would be better if the drone can do something players can't do even when they are physically near the portal, like some exclusive, drone-only actions.
tbh I did not think like you and think outside the box, I may do some brainstorming and see if I can come up with something like what you're talking about
MK9 Ultra just denies everything

As I saw the "install 1 resonator" I could tell it right away. The rest just makes it worse.
We play the game which requires real world moving. NOT the game of "fly drones and cover cities from your coach".
Drones should not in any way influence portal state; only player, while standing at the portal, should.
I wouldn't mind being able to link to a drone without a key as long as it destroyed and recalled the drone instantly. Same thing with recharging. Fully recharge a portal but drone is instantly recalled.
Picking up dropped keys but they aren't tendered to the player unless the drone is recalled manually.
Detect the presence of other drones and optional self destruct destroying any other drones in an action radius.
Yeah also there can be some supporting roles like a drone that let other drones from the same faction in 1km radius have a 0.5x cool down time or 2.0x jump range. Or maybe buff the same faction players in that radius.
I want a drone to do missions remote.
If that is a possibility, I want a checkbox "Can be passed using drone?" when creating a mission. And I want it unchecked by default and for all currently existing missions, some of which were specifically designed to be hard to beat on foot.
Disagree. I prefer a new objective option for missions: perform a drone hack.
This will allow a wider versatility to missions, being able to create new ones to be done by drone only or just adding drone steps (with potential to control the time the agent will do the missions, like making a them stop for a while close of some touristic attraction or restaurant).
Actually as drones can only hack, then with each hack waypoint there can be such "Drone hack counts too" flag.
why ? let the users decide that if they want a challenge on foot.. it could be that using drones u get no gear to balance it out. also some banners are hard to do on foot if u cant reach certain portals etc.. this is where drones could help.
also some banners are hard to do on foot if u cant reach certain portals etc..
Because they're specifically made this way? If I create a banner that has a challenge in it, I don't want some dude to drone hack all portals and be done with it.
That might be useful if some portals are temporarily out of reach when they're normally accessible (construction, private event, etc). Of course this must be very limited and only used for mission credit, not for normal gameplay
This can be solved another way. Reach out to mission author and ask to change waypoints. And before you say some agents don't play anymore: Mission Creator needs some way to transfer ownership of a mission, so that new agents could manage banners of retiring agent.
I would LOVE for drones to be able to travel faction links between portals. I'm always getting stuck geographically in my city because of rivers, highways, etc. But if I could travel between portals on a faction link, I could make it out of my city and travel more. I think it would be awesome.

Hard to reach portals while doing a banner isnt a challenge its just frustrating and u just want cancel and not finish it even. Maybe one exception could be those goruck things.
I wish that the people who keep marking disagree would instead state their argument why they dislike the idea of a drone that would give players opportunity to perform a once-a-day, mission-progressing hack within a tiny distance like 80 meters.
I agree with your post. Having to figure out which stairway goes from street level down to the waterfront constitutes a challenge. Being unable to enter a park because of utility work does not.
Some better designed banners, if the mission authors put any thought into them, might possibly be designed in such a way as to create a bit of a challenge. But in my experience, a good number of banner missions were set up by just clicking adjacent waypoints in the creator tool, with little regard to flow. If I have to cross a busy street four times in a single mission, for example, that's not my idea of a "challenge"... that's just annoying. What's frustrating is when you get 14 missions into a three row banner, and find that a building has been fenced off for construction. Sure you might have done your research, but often there's no way to know what's going to be there until you arrive. IMO providing an alternative to trespassing outweighs the drawback of possibly making part of a mission slightly easier.
Yes, or those banners wheere the author re-uses same waypoints so that you must use several heatsinks etc also not what i call a challenge, imo many banners are frustrating not sure why banners should be a challenge even, just doing it in your own pace can be a challenge, everyone plays this game different we all have different goals. So if u are doing a banner someday and a few portals are out of reach then a drone would help . If u are tourist out of town doing a banner u take for granted u will complete it but again u might come to a point where u cant finish it for many reasons, and that is not a challenge to me getting frustrated.
oh god what have i done here
Allowing the drone to count its hack for a mission would sure be very useful.
People, it seems you're just too lazy to pass the missions on your own, and instead wanna do it from your coach.
What has this to do with lazy? Again nobody would be forced, but many places are not allowed to go where a banner is due to many things, why make it a problem? Drones are here to stay like it or not.. This game should have more to offer doing from home, many players are bored with the low decay rate having nothing to do where covid still is an issue...
Allowing missions have drone objective is a good idea, so if someone want to create drone exclusive or drone mixed missions they are free to do it. Officially Spoofing current missions is a bad idea.
As an experienced banner creator and trekker, I know how problematic can a single portal out of reach in the middle of a banner for any reason. Having the chance of sending the drone to get the hack is a feature I would like to see implemented. Yet, this only gets the job done when the mission actions is to hack the portal. As far as I know, you need to be in range to perform any other action, even entering a passphrase, plus the fact that drone has 1 hour cooldown before being able to do anything else.
It seems to me that you don't do a lot of banners yourself. Allow me to fully disagree with you on this, my good sir.
im done talking here on this topic anymore... ppl just click disagree congrats... how sad....
But, most banners are just simple hack 6 portals (including MD). And you can start a mission literally from anywhere in the world, and just go there by drone entirely (if possible). So unless they add a change to how missions works (like requiring you to be at range of starting portal, or forbidden hack only missions) regular drone hack is totally against the spirit of missions.
