Ingress requires a secure login
The latest update to Ingress logged me out and will not allow me to log back in. Whenever I try to login, I get an error message saying "Ingress requires a secure login. Please check your internet connection and try again." At first I thought this was because I was I was trying to log in via my phone's data connection, but it won't work on my home wifi connection either. I should note that this only happens when attempting to log in via Google. If I log in via Facebook, it lets me in, but shows that I have no account and offers to let me create one.
I've been playing Ingress since the first beta codes were being sent out, and this is very annoying. I've tried clearing the app's cache, clearing data, uninstalling and reinstalling and none of it has worked. I've seen other people with similar issues, but no answers on their questions. I'd hate to think that this is the end of my Ingress run after so many years.

The same problem... Yesterday Ingress decided in the middle of the day that it needs secure connection, although early in the morning he had no trouble with that.
Whenever I try to login, I get an error message saying "Ingress requires a secure login. Please check your internet connection and try again." I played all day saturday 7/18/20 even though it was a horrible experience having to restart the app after it became unresponsive about 11 times. Today, I tried to log in and received that secure login message :( all these updates and seems like the app is getting worse.

Same problem. Only happens when logging in via Google.
Same problem here. Tried to remove the rights on my Google account, reinstalled the game, removed my account from my phone, nothing is appending. I'm desesperated. It appended after I added an other email service to my Gmail account.
I experience exactly the same in the last 72 hours. Anyone knows how can this be resolved? TIA!
It just loops like this and I get tired of waiting so I just exit the app. Did all uninstall > install, clear cache, data and wifi, but still the same.

No. I figured out the issue though. It was because I was rooted. Once I unrooted, it started working fine again.
Oh, yeah, if it doesn't pass SafetyNet you don't get in.
Remove root, and folders like TWRP.
Or just find a way to keep it.
