Thank you for listening to our concerns, @NianticCasey. I implore you to share all of our feedback and I sincerely hope the rest of the team is willing to listen, too. I agree with nearly all of the opinions that were shared in this thread. Our concerns are based off many hours of vested time and efforts, both as reviewers and nominators. We want improvements and what is best, but the last few months have been trying our patience. Just one example is how many of my friends made nominations of swimming pools that were listed under "eligible candidates" of the first iteration of Wayfarer guidelines, only to watch in horror as Niantic flipped the stance to call them ineligible, and one by one the rejections (and random approval) came back.
I review a lot and am proud to be (as far as I know) the only local region Agent with Onix Recon. I encourage all my friends to review and am thrilled at the improvements Pokémon GO Trainers have made. Sudden changes like this, disparity in speed of review time for regions, and lack of any semblance of direct support capabilities will be what ends up driving me away for good.
Again, thanks for listening, and thanks for the prompt response on this.
Do you even Ingress? It's a level 10 requirement to nominate, level 12 to review. How do you expect a level 10 Agent to have any Wayfarer medal without being able to review?
That said, I've long thought it is backwards to have access to nominate before access to review. I personally learned so much more once I was able to review.
This should only be implemented when the categorys are okay. I still dont have lots of categories for Things. Also some things got lost in Translation. Surely you can try to auto-tag Things like Playground, but please let it be in the background. I still dont know why WE have to categorize two different sorts of Playground Here in Germany.
Theres alot of Work to be done before you can add a system Like this.
In my area it seems all submissions are blanket rejected these days. Even four star locations like churches come back as rejected. Probably not a Niantic issue other than a mad player base over the uselessness of the new scanner. When it works it takes a couple of minutes to boot up worse when in a low signal area and it's difficult to time an operation with the scanners so glitchy. Most of the 🐸 have quit in frustration. I think they are still reviewing though and rejecting on mass.
@NianticCasey Could you ask them to consider culling the list of ineligible objects or making it abundantly clear that it is in not in anyway a list of eligible items? We've had people in the past use it to make bad faith arguments and making it required without any adjustments will just start that up again.
Four years ago as part of the original proposal that became OPR, the suggestion was that people needed to provide what criteria a portal qualified to be a portal under.
That would still be a far better judge of reviewer capabilities, because if 20 people say "Promotes Exercise" and the portal is a McDonalds, you know that they're colluding etc. Or if the selected criteria is all over the shop it could be manually reviewed too.
Asking what it is might satisfy some internal to Niantic thought process but it doesn't help Wayfarer.
I said for a long time I WANTED this feature added
I think personally forcing some of the more lazy reviewers to select a category will prevent junk portals being voted in (eg if it has no category it should not be approved)
Hopefully there is some metric to test this in backend if too many reviewers picking wrong or random categories
I have noticed the system usually offers some bizzare suggestions under "What is it" tab. For example the nomination is a cross with Jesus Christ and suggestions are "Water Fountain" "Pizza place" "Amusement Park"

Yet another in a long line of poorly implemented features by the company that doesn’t test anything before pushing it into production.
I’m shocked.

Making bronze or silver wayfarer medal as a requirement to submission would be a great plus too.
So people would learn criterias BEFORE submitting.
Both for ingress & pokemon.

Please Tell this to the wayfarer Team @NianticCasey
As the majority have already stated this requirement is a mess.
There is a lot of categories missing and slows reviewers down.
Numerous bugs still not fixed and yet another one with a new feature not being announced.
Are the wayfarer team ok ?

Of course ^^
i meant replace the l10 requirement by wayferer medal requirement. :)
Well said oracle !
I Did not see this post before creating a new one. But this just happend to me an hour ago @NianticCasey 3 reviews and optional again.

is this required now live for some nominations?
I had it quite often today and yesterday. But I don't mind, because I fill it anyways.
Sometimes I wonder if the suggestions are auto-generated or from previous reviewers, because some are really weird.

Makes for a good laugh sometimes.
