Feature request: Portal edit explanation box

Where I live, there are some portals which are badly in need of editing: a "chamber of commerce" building that has housed only an accounting office since at least 2012, but which has a lovely stained glass window; an "augie's coffee house" that Augie's moved out of two years ago, but which is now another coffee shop.

I'm not trying to delete these portals. I'm not trying to move them, but they are no longer accurate. New portal pictures are summarily denied, because the old name isn't visible in the new picture. Edits to the portal name, or description are denied, claiming reviewers are unable to confirm the changes... because I can't add new photos.

What we need is a dialogue box like in the new portal submission page, where we can explain that it isnt the same anymore.

Invalid portal appeals is that a way.

  • This is not an invalid portal appeals post.

I'm talking about existing portals, which are still valid, but they need to be modified in order to still make sense.

This dialogue box, if viewed by reviewers at wayfarer, will just increase and facilitate bad actions like willing move portal away from a precise location just to free cells, etc...

About your case, try submitting a picture of the exactly same point of view of current photo of the portal. If you keep getting it denied, you can ask an appeal to see what they can do about. Or try removing the portal and submiting bit again if still valid (or just submit and hope it be marked as duplicate)
