How do you read this then. ""Signs for locations that are already existing Wayspots" Eligible, if they are a significant distance from the object or location.
I personally read it as a sign for the thing that is a waypoint, such as a church. So you have a church (the waypoint) and the sign for the church.
In the case of the apartment complex, the waypoint isn't the apartments, it's a playground or pool or whatever. So a sign for the "Main Street Apartments Playground" that was some distance away from the playground could be eligible, but that doesn't make the apartments themselves eligible.
A list for "What is it" section isn't that complicated to update. It is by far much easier than updating the AMA issue they are currently adding. But seeing some updates to "What is it" could give some relief to player base that they are working to improve. Quick easy fix.
The sign is for the apartment complex not the playground. Thats the difference, if you were argueing a playground sign and a playground based on that I would give it to you. However, the Playground and Apartment sign are only related based on proximity not relation.
Let's get @NianticCasey opinion on both. Before we all rush and jump to conclusions on what he thinks and this begins to be a text message battle. He could come back say yes this is really easy to do and could be done this week/day on the list update for "What is it" Section. As for the "signs for locations that are already existing wayspots" for apartment signs that already have existing wayspots of playgrounds, swimming pools, or pavilions as he has the arguments above. He can chime in fairly easy to resolve it.
You know how many arguments are in here that go unresolved, we need to figure this stuff out on our own sometimes we don't need to be babied. There are absolutely 0 criteria that would make an ordinary apartment sign eligible.
You do it then. Quick and easy compilation, helps out everyone. Win-Win. You can find all the AMAs and Criteia everywhere for clarification. Get at it. Chop chop.
That was 2.5 months old. As well as I am pretty sure no one brought up the question that we are bringing up. If we follow the criteria of ""Signs for locations that are already existing Wayspots" Eligible, if they are a significant distance from the object or location. Than they should be accepted as long as they're existing wayspots on the grounds of the apartment complex prior. (playgrounds, pavilions, swimming pools, and other acceptable criteria submissions.) That is basically the same stance that you guys have with Churchs and Church signs being allowed. (Just usually bigger ground sizes for an apartment complex compared to a church..)
2.5 months old means it's no longer valid? Rethink that please. Sorry but signs for existing waypoints are already tenuous and a sign pointing to an apartment building amenity just isn't the kind of thing that should be a POI.
I really hope you aren't misguiding people with that line of thought.
An apartment complex playground is eligible. A sign that points you to the playground on the apartment complex could be eligible, based on being a "sign for a location that is already an existing Wayspot," but it should at least be unique visually and a "significant" distance away.
A sighn for an apartment complex is NOT a sign for the playground. It usually specifies office hours and complex amenities. I would reject as an apartment sighn represents a generic business - the apartment complex.
You guys need to realize. You are focusing on the object aspect, not the location aspect. Both of which are written as allowed.
How it is written.
""Signs for objects/locations that are already existing Wayspots" Eligible, if they are a significant distance from the object or location.
How you are to read.
""Signs for objects that are already existing Wayspots" Eligible, if they are a significant distance from the object or location. (playground having a sign as well.)
""Signs for locations that are already existing Wayspots" Eligible, if they are a significant distance from the object or location. (Apartment complex having a sign because of existing wayspots named similar to "hampton apartments playground". As your name already created the guidance to accept the sign by it being named as the apartment complex playground. This is giving the community for the apartments culture, as it has existing wayspots already that were playgrounds, swimming pools, or pavilions approved by players.)
I am eager to see Casey's response. I believe Apartment Signs are eligible if the apartment complex has an existing wayspot as written.
Lets break this down: What location does an apartment complex sign represent? The Apartment Complex. Is the Apartment Complex itself an eligible nomination, no. Then the sign is not eligible.
Sounds like we will eventually find out from Niantic. Until then. If I am proved wrong by niantic, than you can use this as my apology. Until then, I am done with the chime ins. My point of view is above. It has a valid point behind it for both the "What is it" section and Apartment signs being allowed for apartments that have existing wayspots of a playground, swimming pool, or pavilion. I was always told to follow what is written.
What you keep quoting says a SIGN FOR AN OBJECT/LOCATION already in game. Your twisting it in your favor to say a sign for something that's has waypoints.
This has gotten way off track, can we get back to requests for additions to the 'What is it?' box? There was apparently an area on G+ to request things be added but that's been long gone. If we can make a sensible list we might get something done.

Serious question: What is the current problem that this would relieve?
And that specifically says a sign for A LOCATION THAT IS a wayspot, not locations that contain wayspots

There's also this update he posted in the last thread you brought this topic up.

There's naïve and then there's ****.

Just no. No no no. Apartment complex signs are not eligible no matter how much you try to twist words around.
You cant add your own little dots to connect the dots.
Lets break this down: What location does an apartment complex sign represent? The Apartment Complex. Is the Apartment Complex itself an eligible nomination, no. Then the sign is not eligible.
If I name my mural XYZ Mural at McDonalds.....can I submit the McDonalds sign then?

I somehow doubt that you'll ever aknowledge that statement if Niantic ever decides to give a clarification to this very poor argument.
I just acknowledged if I am wrong, i apologized. (in the above.)
Are you going to apologize if you are wrong?
And if Casey doesn't chime in, you will continue making up your own guidelines?
Technically, I am following the guidance of Wayfarer.
No you aren't. Your argument is a textbook example of making up your own rules.
What you keep quoting says a SIGN FOR AN OBJECT/LOCATION already in game. Your twisting it in your favor to say a sign for something that's has waypoints.

A couple I think need to be added:
Park Games (C o r n h o l e, Pingpong, Horseshoes, Chess Tables, Disc Golf Course, etc)
Covered Shelter (Includes Gazebo, Pergola, Ramada, Pavilion, Picnic Shelter)
Dog Park
Noticeboard
Boardwalk
Exercise Equipment
