It seems like bad game design to not allow negative XM
This many Level 8 portals with weapon mods should require a ton of power cubes to ****. It actually takes nearly none as the XM bounces back up with moss being knocked off. Allowing XM debt might actually make killing portals a challenge, unless attack mods are actually given real stickiness values that don’t die from small splash damage.
Or remove X8, they were a balance mistake.

problem is the nerfed shields, 3 years ago that would be a real pain destroying highlvl-farms but today? its so much easier with shields popping off from distance even....
XM has always stopped at 0 with no negatives.
While I personally would also like to see more durable standing farms, I think the proper solution is to bring the shields back to their 2017 ability levels.
Many complained it was too hard back then destroy and many cities were static where new players could not **** down farm areas etc.. i guess niantic wanted more fluid gameplay where its easier to shot down stuff.
Given that at the time AXA were replicating in backpacks by the hundred and there was an 80% stickiness... it was true.
Durable standing farms are not created by building them once and expecting them to last forever. That's not how competition works.
No but thats how the game worked back then people were used to have a farm that they defended for years and then not everyone was happy that it became so much easier to destroy what 8 people build together for a single agent today.. years ago the enemy used to be 2-3 people usually when attacking the old farms with axa now today just a single agent can do that job without any issue... even if u defend with recharge the shields pop off way too fast and easy now...
