@montitcha please read entire topic before posting. To avoid double posting, I already replied to this Paragraph. Next time read then bring something new or constructive on topic discussion.

    Thank you!

@CataCat I am not saying that maybe you are not right but if is like this, have to be written clear in ToS and not to be left unclear. IF multi-account applies to multiple devices, please show me 1 more game that have this rule and how can be controlled legally.

  • I get pinged and answered. You don't have to look so haughty. It is no more constructive.

Then to come back, since it is forbidden for 1 person to have several accounts. That it is also prohibited to falsify your position and lend your account.

    It amounts to exactly

    1 person = 1 location = 1 account

Are you planning to play with your account opened several times in the same place on several devices? What's the point? And especially when you are banned for having carried out 2 simultaneous actions but not quite in the same place, don't complain.

No you do not multiply the purchases since with only 1 account, they are the same purchases on all the devices that have this account.

Each game also relies on the loyalty of the players and the inteclecuelle honesty of the latter. Just because it's complicated to control doesn't mean you have to believe you're allowed to do anything.... it's like saying there aren't police everywhere so I can crush all the grannies who walk too slowly on the pedestrian crossing! That's nonsense!

It is because of people like you that some games prohibit you from opening another account with the same device. Even if it is only to help a player was blocking due to lack of battery or network... not to mention the young people who only play on their parents' laptop on weekends.

And skirting them should put a target on your back, whether it is extra agents taking your stuff down, or reports. Do you really want the target on your back?

  • Can i sometimes use my green Account and sometimes my blue Account? I understood it like this:"one Account at a time".

  • HosetteHosette ✭✭✭✭✭

@ImGreenJsRoad The rule is that one player can use one account, period. You can't have two accounts for yourself, you can't use someone else's account, and nobody else can use your account.

    Don't feed the troll.

  • But the troll came up with a good point: why is Niantic so passive in this regard? No reply here. And out of all the reports of cheaters I submitted, the support closed just a few backpack accounts. Neither all of reported ones nor a generell investigation of the main acc activities.

So what's the point of ToS sections ignored by -80% of the players and unjudged by Nia?

If the answer is: too hard to detect, then Nia should remove the section und prevent cheating by eg.: no item drop at all anymore... Problem solved.

This post is already a bit older - but i'd like to add an issue.

What would you think of a player who says that he took over his account from his brother, for example? Is this against ToS or some kind of a shady zone?

  • If the brother no longer uses the account but the player is using it instead, then yes, that is shady.

I have my account on two devices. Why?

My main device, I use day to day, it has chat apps, email, weather etc. And Ingress. I use it 99.9% of the time.

The other device has nothing on it except Ingress, (OK it has some preinstalled junk from the manufacturer I can't get rid of).

I use it for low signal portals where every byte counts, the other device is powered down usually at this time. Last thing I want is app updates/animated GIFs at a portal where getting ANY data connection is tricky.

@SSSputnik I think we are all in agreement that there is nothing wrong with having one account on multiple devices. There was a tempest in a teapot on G+ some years ago about whether you could actively use two devices at once but there was never any question that having your account on multiple devices at once was fine. I have a similar situation with multiple phones/carriers and all but one device is very stripped down.

The negative "multiple devices" comment earlier was about having multiple accounts, each on a different device.

@NianticBrian Any thoughts on this? Because stuff like this, is why people multi account in Ingress like crazy... It's OK in Niantic's other games...

Or is Niantic just worried about potential bad press from even commenting on it?

And yet my reports of a multi that fill up to 10 gyms in my field of view results in nothing.

  • HosetteHosette ✭✭✭✭✭

@Hydracyan I literally watched someone do it right in front of me... one person walked up, took down the gym I'd just captured, and then completely filled it himself. Also no result from my reporting it.

Seems quite simple to me. If you're not holding the scanner with your OWN account, you are by definition spoofing since you are not there. Or someone is for you. Is this confusing?

all i know that pokemon grandpa is sponsored by asus or which company that gives him all those phones.... but its mutli acc for me no matter...

  • 3car3car ✭✭✭

I can't see why this discussion is spanned over multiple pages.. The ToS is clear, and the AMAs supports it.

  • It's because people want to argue for a tenuous excuse to do it.

  • I'm not sure what other games you're familiar with, but if it's pogo, ingress's closest relative, basically everything is opposite. Dual-wield phones, your own same-team, other, stuff gyms with your own or your friends accounts, 'solo' raids with just you and 10 phones from your friends and family and their baby accounts - noone cares, niantic won't do anything about it, not by themselves, not if 20 people present strong evidence. In ingress, the TOS are identical. However, if your very own team think you're either account sharing or multiaccounting, they will report you, even just putting up a few level 7 portals near home. If as a newer player, people suspect this, you may not get invited into the higher-level local faction chats.

It's quite possible for several people to each spend several months planning a 1 hour operation. No one wants the achievements of such effort to be cheapened by accusations of cheating. Everything would be easier if it didn't require 4-24 agents to be in the same (often remote) places at the same time,.
