UK Portals - No more "Village Notice Boards" please.

Seems to be a current trend in the UK, the submitting and approval of "Village Notice Boards" ot "Parish NoticeBoards".

Some notice board things are fine, those with a nice name and a map perhaps, but honestly, are a couple of bits of paper behind a pane of grotty glass on a no name generic noticeboard portalworthy? No.

Can we please turn all of these sorts od rubbish submissions down, and approve portal removal requests for such things when we submit them please.

That would be because in the AMA they were clarified as being a very good candidate

Like any "valid candidate", there will be good examples and poor examples in real life. Consider the guidelines to apply to a good candidate. A poor example of the type of thing should get a lower rating.

I have approved (4 or 5*) almost every village noticeboard I've had on OPR. But I would give 1 or 2* to a rubbish looking board if I had to review one.

  • In my city we have the 'City Civic Guide' which is normally a map and info. Then theres the rural 'community notice board' which is normally a large board, with sign and info regarding emergency services. Lastly, and should be rejected, is normal noticebaord where people advertise stuff.
