Idea for Ingress Financials
in General
Heres an idea
2.99 a month for an extra 500 inventory
4.99 a month for an extra 1000 inventory
6.99 a month for an extra 200 inventory and a 24/48 hour double AP which is activated in-app by each user.
Subscription based works for most companies, just not Tesco.

No extra inventory for payment!
I think it would be better if the subscription came with other features, and as bonus a few more inventory. Not inventory being the only reason. Expandable inventory (as in go and unite), but with raising price at each pursarch, also would be better. 50 slots each, up to 3000 total maximum (1000 buyable). And maybe new accounts with fewer slots, starting at 5000 and going up to 2000 by leveling up.
About premium subscription, it could bring store discounts, exclusive bundles and beacons, new avatars, skins, etc. And maybe new ways to play, like new portals with exclusive features, like extra mods and resos (lv9+ portals), extra links, etc.
Extra inventory space for km walked in the month, if you go below the required km in a month, then that space is retired
Instead of charging to participate in Anomalies, offer a paid gear storage locker for registered participants. Open the gear locker two weeks before the Anomaly, and charge a 25 dollar rental fee. Gear that is put in the locker cannot be removed until the Anomaly has been completed. After the Anomaly you have a week to remove all your stored gear. Basically, this lets serious players develop a gear load specifically for an anomaly, without having to shift VR gear to the accounts of friends and family. It would make it possible to keep the events free to attend, which makes it easier to hold events in the first place.
A monthly subscription is what Niantic really needs. Something that does not break the game, but would be addictive enough to make people not want to give it up.
One idea: extend the range of the portal interaction radius by 10 meters. This gives no competitive advantage, but if they gave everyone a free month, I think very few players would want to give it up.
Another idea: Give players 30 or 60 minutes a day where they can automatically hack portals when they are in range. Passengers and bus riders can do this easily manually. Drivers shouldn't be doing this, but they still do. You could have it be configurable for no-key, or request key hacking, or only hack portals of a certain range of levels, or faction, etc.
Product that should be available in the store: paid daily hack insurance. You could buy 1/3/5 day "protection" from breaking your hacking streak. Good to use if you get sick, or a hurricane is going to drop the grid for a few days. It makes going Platinum/Onyx for Sojourner easier but has no impact on gameplay.
Niantic can't adopt a Pay to Win model, or Ingress players will revolt. If they stick to a Pay-for-Convenience/Laziness model, they should be able to cover the costs of keeping Ingress running.
Financial idea for Ingress: stop using it as a testing enviroment for other games.
I don't see this happening at all. Actually the other games have more unique features than Ingress. There is a lot of improvement there that could have been implement here and still no news about it. It's been a year since prime launch and they didn't really add anything new, just parity with the old scanner. They even managed to worse up things, like the missions pictures on the list...
Now with the subscription announcement, I believe but would be fair to:
So your saying that we couldn't do what we do now unless we pay the subscription?
Yeah, that would fare well with existing players.
I know it sound hard, but I bet the whole advantages the subscription could provide will probably make most player join it.
I'm just having ideas, to limit backpacks, spoofers, etc. I certainly will not be happy if the inventory got reduced, but the rest aren't game changers.
Edits and proposals being paid will probably increase Niantic's profit since most pokemon players that came to ingress are only interested in that. They either stop coming or start paying.

200 or 2000?
The thing is, if you punish non-payment, it does become a "You have to pay to play" problem. I could happily see changes like:
But punishing players who don't pay, or giving "I Win" buttons to people who do (like your unflippable mod) is exactly what will destroy the game. If you want to combat backpacks, make them play more so we can catch them. It's a far more egregious crime in Niantic's eyes, to play multiple level 8 accounts, than simply have a bunch of L1 accounts that just hold gear.
But if you punish someone who doesn't pay (by making the game any less functional than it is now) you are saying that the only way to play is to pay. And that will **** Ingress.
Exclusive Medal for early supporters at launch
I could get behind that. The rest of it, not so much. Maybe limiting portal subs a bit, but definitely not anything that deliberately harms your ability to play the game when you don't pay.
