Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, Postbox, oh ! its postbox
SORRY! I'm a pogo player and new to this reviewing stuff and i know some of you might hate me already for that reason alone, but have never seen a postbox as a way point apart from the 2 gold ones in Bolton, representing the 2 gold medals won at the Olympics that people from Bolton won, all the other 1,000 that i have seen for review are red and you put letters in with captions like "Postbox, thanks for reviewing", "Local gathering area" and "you put letters in them" if its a old postbox that's been there since the big bang surly they need to give you a bit more to work with. I have many questions for you guy as i have ingress players to thank for some of the wonderful things i have found when exploring new places but at this rate all i will see the next time i go out is postboxes and im not in to that fetish.
Comments
thanks i needed a good laugh 😅
in all seriousness, i am personally so so sorry about the postbox thing, i asked an AMA question in January and its got way out of hand, people are using that question to accept any postbox when the answer clearly stated "regular mass produced postboxes should be rejected"
If you like postboxes come join us, embrace the redness, and occasionally other coloured, loveliness of the boxes
We have cake
Disclaimer, any cake is imaginary, any resemblance to real cake is likely to be a picture or photograph.
So... would you say the cake is a lie? 😛
Instantly started humming, still alive and want you gone after reading that 🤣🤣🤣🤣. If only Valve didnt have an aversion to having games with a 3 in it lol
Just want to clear things up, the majority of us do not hate Pokemon players a lot of us are Pokemon Players. We just recognize that the average player isnt concerned with the quality of the database or spending time to learn the rules. A lot of people used to say Ingress players were making up their own rules but it's nothing compared to what I'm seeing in my PoGo communities.
With that said the post boxes are supposed to only go through if they're on your historic registry as rare/unique. The guidelines have said regular mass produced mailboxes should be rejected
Remember that Ingress is 7 years old. All the ‘interesting’ stuff has already been submitted and reviewed. You’ll get a lot of post boxes, trail markers etc because we’re just filling out the last gaps in the system at this point.
Eh, not necessarily. Cool art, buildings, hangouts, churches, etc are built or made every day. Many POIs are here that weren't 7, 3, or even 1 year ago. Even ignoring new things, that statement would also rely on active players. Most of my ~200 pending nominations are of things that have been around and easily qualify, but we lack players who care about nominating or reviewing.
That may be true for you locally, but 7 miles from me is a village with one PoI in the database, but they have around 40 strong candidates. There is (for example) a 700 year-old church that hasn't been submitted.
And in my area, there's a town that holds an annual art festival every year, and a lot of times a bunch of new murals get painted in various places during said festival.
(And before you ask: yes, they're permanent.)
Not to mention the local rail trail that's finishing up construction (the trail itself is open, they're just putting the finishing touches on the main trail access points)...
