Border clean up

Hi, any chance of a tidy-up on badge borders, for visual consistency? It undermines the design work that went into making Prime more beautiful than redacted. Would be great to see badges that are part of a set look like they belong together. At the moment, the borders are all different thickness, brightness, etc. Thanks.

Weird isn’t it? Practically from the get go, when they started having borders, they had inconsistencies. I started off thinking they had a design template but quickly discovered they all seem to be unique afaics. So my guess due to that is that it won’t be possible to easily amend the borders, they’d need to completely redesign.
Big job, but I’d love it if they released the vector graphics so that we could crowdsource-design a consistent set. And they could even monetise it by allowing us to pay a bit of money for a ‘crowdsource X badge set’ whereby users could buy in store and switch on/off via settings.
I do not find prime more beautiful than Redacted.
Nor do I think visual adjustment to badges are as critical as other improvements, such as fixing the linking bug, missions bugs, compass rose bug, speedlock bug, loading bug, etc.
I'd much rather see visual adjustments to contrast, and color, so the game appears the same on various phones, and is easier to see.
I'd much rather see a fix for scaling issues on portals so they appear equally visible across different phones.
I'd much rather see railroads in the scanner, so that rail passengers can more easily play as they ride.
Fixing badges is such a minor issue that I'd rather not see it get done until something to improve everyday play can happen.
And prime is in no way more beautiful than redacted.
On the other hand, many of the issues you mention will be handled by software developers, whereas tweaking the appearance of badges is a task that will be primarily done by a graphics artist. So they do not compete on the same developer resources, and they can be addressed concurrently.
Some of the issues I mentioned would be the responsibility of software developers.
Many others are squarely in the realm of graphic artists. For example:
The issue of chromatic abbeation, first reported in August https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/3436/artificial-chromatic-aberration-doesnt-work-as-a-visual-effect#latest
As well as the issue of portals not scaling properly, and nor being visible, first reported in September. https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/5891/i-cannot-see-the-portals-on-prime#latest
And of course, complaints about the super-purple color scheme, such as this suggestion from September 30th, https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/4838/feature-request-more-text-in-white-lettering#latest
This one mentioning W3 recommended contrast, so that Ingress might accommodate people with visual impairment, from October.https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/comment/36079#Comment_36079
Or this discussion about color from late November, https://community.ingress.com/en/discussion/7088/purple-is-a-bad-color-scheme-because-of-how-the-human-eye-ages#latest
TLDR: prime is hard to play because the color and contrast makes almost everything hard to see. We've been complaining about this for four months now with no change.
You can't beautify something until it can be seen. You can't properly bug test software until you can see it.
The borders are different depending on the tier and type of medal
I'm glad this guy never got a Perepolis badge.
