Why is there a distance limitation on submitting portal pictures???!!!

I'm absolutely upset about Prime limiting portal picture submission if I'm too far away from the portal. I recently went on a 1 week trip to TN & Great Smoky National Park. Took more than 100 portal pics & obtained respective keys. Came home to CA & now I can't submit? No other words except THIS REALLY SUCKS! I was too busy vacationing (and tired from hikes) to submit the photos at that time. This is a very important part of the game that I really enjoy & I know a number of agents feel the same. PLEASE remove this restriction. Why does it matter if I'm far away. You can limit submission (which you now do), but people may not be able to submit at that area for various reasons (time limitation is certainly one of them).

Agreed. This makes no sense for folks who travel and would like to contribute to the portals when they get home. Just another function taken away that use to be there...

  • I think that kinda stuff is good , cuz one of the main aims of ingress is to communicate with new ppl .. I donno what's the agent status around you , but may be it's a chance for you to chat with CA. agents (if there is any opr agents) to help you with photo approval .. in case you don't have , I guess it's a chance to recruit one more with fast lvl up there to help you ... Again I guess it's the reason , may be am not right .. it's all up to you

It was because some players were abusing this to submit portals they had never even visited.

I hope Niantic listen on agents feedback and fix it soon in Prime. Better we can send in Good pictures from everyware lication on the planet not locked it to km with portal picture.

  • I completely agree!!!! With all the new improvements in phone cameras, submitting on location usually times out... I live in the foothills of the great smoky mountains, and went to submit a portal pic yesterday after my trip to North Carolina... which is only 2.5 hours away and it wouldn’t allow it. Before I was able to submit photos for portals in Japan from a recent trip, because I had kept the keys.
