OPR/Mission Creator Login for Facebook created accounts

Since Niantic decided to allow creation of accounts via a new system (Facebook) anyone creating an account through such means has been denied access to some of the core components of Ingress. Due to the login system in place, even linking a google account and removing the Facebook account link from an account originally created through a Facebook account does not grant access to OPR or the Mission Creator tool. The same issue was (until relatively recently) present with the most important tool for all agents of any level, the Ingress Intel map.

Fortunately now they the Login system for the Ingress Intel map has been updated to accommodate for Facebook logins, it is also able to accept logins through linked accounts, however the same still cannot be said about the Mission Creator tool or OPR

I cannot be the only agent wishing to contribute to the Ingress community in such ways and psychically unable to do so, due to Niantic releasing an account creation option that is not fully supported.

Please NIA, fix your login systems for both the Mission Creator tool and for OPR.

  • I second this. Having the same issues with logging into OPR for over 2 weeks now. That is after spending a 3 month time to getting from lvl 10 to level 12.

Such a slap in the face.

Made several tickets, and all of them acknowledge the problem, but none is able to provide a fix.

Then there is players saying we need to do something to encourage people to review, well , how about you FIX the LOG IN ISSUE.

  • I'm closing in on Level 14 (as soon as FS AP comes through I'll hit it) and I've been wanting to do OPR and create banners for my community since I started playing.

Not being able to submit portals until already being level 13 has been bad enough, thinking I'd be given access to Redacted after reaching level 10 before they introduced submissions into Prime sure to bad wording in one of the FAQs

It's not even like it's a difficult thing for them to do, they have done it with Intel, so all NIA need to do is implement the same changes to their other sites.

  • I guess they dont want any volunteer workers?

  • Yeah, though clearly they're not putting much effort into fixing the issue, since all they need to do is implement exactly what they implemented into Intel (eventually) which is the Facebook login system and accounting for secondary account connections. They know what they need to do and how to do it, they just aren't doing that sadly.
