There's a portal in my neighborhood called The Moon. The object is nothing special, it's a lamp somebody submitted in the seer times. But I get a kick out of seeing seeing "LadyAnthrax destroyed a resonator on The Moon" pop up.
My favorite is obviously my first seer portal. General Powell Plaque.
My kids went to the school across the street from where he grew up and I happened to be on that side of the street when I saw it. I had actually said, "why isn't this a portal?" to which my husband, also a player, said, "why don't you submit it?" and I did.
This portal is in an infamous neighbourhood I used to live in. The name translates to "Angel of Innocence" and it is right at the entrance of a prostitution establishment.
I am credited with creating this portal, but a teammate gets all the credit for the name and description. I found this sculpture, but could not come up with a good name, so I asked in our local chat, and boy, did i get a gem of a response 😂
Hands down, my favorite portal is the Leaning Water Tower in Groom, Tx.. It's just a silly Route 66 attraction, but it was a challenge to reach it. The water tower is located in a field near the highway and the fence happens to be on the very edge of the scanner's range! It took my sister and I a long time to hack and fully deploy our resonators. It was a major victory for us!
I'm also fond of the portal for the cemetery in Aurora, Tx.. We found it when we stopped for gas on a roadtrip. Rumor has it, the cemetery contains the gravesite for an alien that crash landed in the town in 1897! It is a neat place to visit if you're in the DFW area.
Seriouly though, any portal that has a quality description that I can say I learned something about the POI. Luckily, we have agents in Western NY that actually research their submissions and include awesome descriptions that allow you to learn as you play.
I could have a dozen or more favorites. I've kept keys from significant moments in my anomaly adventures. I believe my favorite is Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop, in New Orleans, LA. The oldest bar in America and a cool memory of my first GORUCK Stealth.
It's been renamed multiple times and moved a few times around the sculpture park. When I started playing (co-worker invited me in May of 2013) the park had about 60 portals and they had a really fun walking farm there back when I was Level 5 the first time around. Fun times walking around with a bunch of people making new friends and seeing all of the artwork. Now the park boosts over 150+ portals and is one of the best places locally to gain stats and AP. I've ingressed there in the sun, the rain, and the snow!
My favourite portal in Ukraine Lviv city , named Saint church of Olga and Elizaveta . Amazing Church created 1903 , best Ghotic style I never seen !!!!
Hello, im deaf player, and this portal is very sentimental, because I could meet other deaf people for the first time in 2004, it was a cultural shock and mutual aid. Is a restaurant with deaf employees.
Now I only go there only for lunch like every year :)

A level 8 portal.
Any portal which is not accessible for car-gress players.
