Use only neutral colors for visual tap feedback

Device: Pixel 4
OS: Android 10
App Version: 2.33.1
I forget which app version introduced visual tap feedback, but on the whole, it was a welcome improvement. Something, usually a button, expanding out from under a tap feels fine.
However, the "extra" violet and magenta outlines create more of a double-vision, something-is-dissolving effect, reminiscent of the same issues I have with the artificial chromatic aberration in the corners of the screen [1]. It's a beautiful effect for that one tap after I've entered in the master password for the top-secret data store. It’s a gratuitous and mildly annoying effect for all the mundane taps of day-to-day gameplay.
One neutrally colored outline expanding outward from the thing being tapped on seems like it ought to be plenty enough.
