I was looking at mission creator and found this abuse of editing portals:
The actual mission is from germany. Someone has gotten an false edit to place it in the middle of the atlantic ocean @NianticBrian @NianticCasey
This isn't the right forum for this
They wo'nt reply under appeals unless we send an official appeal.
Why is this not the right forum for it, it was found via a mission but it clearly is an invalid portal.
Just because it may have been posted under the wrong topic doesnt mean its invalid. A good moderator should move it to the correct topic and not ignore the topic all together.
Because this isn't the topic to report abuse in. This is a discussion topic. As someone who used to moderate on a huge platform (Gaia Online), we tend to ignore people who believe the forums act as their personal paging system. There are appropriate ways to report abuse or misplaced waypoints and you should use them.
If you don't have a key perhaps look up the forms online for Pokemon users to report invalid stops.
I actually dont play pokemon so why would I ever turn to the forum of a game that I dont play. Besides, I didnt know pokemon supported Ingress Missions. Is there a topic on the pokemon forums that will get us support on Ingress Missions ? If so, please tell me were this is.
I didn't say Pokemon forums. I said seek out a way outside of them game to get the malicious edits removed. PoGoers have had to navigate Ingress to get things done forever, if this is something you'd like fixed then it's a good idea to go looking for ways to do it appropriately. I gave an option to do so.
This is also not the place for Missions so my point still stands.
You actually did mention the Pokémon forums.
Clearly you didn't read it as the ingress portal is located in the middle of the ocean. Not even on land. Good luck reaching it if your not a spoofer.
I said FORMS because PoGo players don't have an in game way to report things they have a website which is actually easier to use than to go get a key for an object. Which brings me to your next point: I clearly have read what this post is about. It's about removing a maliciously edited waypoint and reporting the abuse. And I gave a way to do so WITHOUT having to go to it.
Clearly you didn't read anything I've actually written.
I have moved this thread under the correct category: Invalid Portal Reports. I have also flagged it to the team to review.
Please keep in mind that we are all part of the same community and to engage in conversations with respect or risk having your community account suspended. Thanks!
I think we were disagreeing but I don't believe either of us were being disrespectful. I'm concerned this warning (though not a Warning) means we can't disagree with eachother without risking a forum ban?
The ticket I opened shortly before this thread was created was closed this morning (Europe time), The portal is now at its original location in Bad Langensalza, Germany.
I've touched base with a member of the appeals team and they've confirmed (as @pitareio mentioned) that this Portal was in the incorrect location and it was reverted to be accurate.
A warning was also issued to the player who submitted the location edit in the first place. Thanks!
