Home/Bonus location: please, do a 2nd chance atleast
Please, Niantic, you guys need to let us change atleast one more time the Home, and another time to change Bonus before starts the 1 year cooldown. Just one more chance, please.
When I got in former OPR, I set up my Home in the same city that my current always is. At the first time we don't know that exist a "current" location.
Already tried 2 times via ticket to support reset, or change, mine locations, they said both times that is impossible. Why? If you can reset a nickname when someone asks, why not let me reset Home or Bonus? Of course, without abuse of that.
There is no reason to lock forever the Home, and the Bonus for 1 year. What's the point? I just want to keep reviewing after I get "there is no more portals to review"..
Even the test to became OPR has a 2nd chance after 30 days, and some people had even a 3rd chance.

I wanted to help with approvals in low-density regions, so I set my bonus location to rural Canada. Well, evidently I went too far on the rural scale, because I've never seen a single nomination from there. It's like having no bonus location at all.
So yes, I'd appreciate an another chance at picking the location.
People also sometimes move to other cities (because of better job) so I don't really see any logic behind locking home location.
Does Nia answer anything in this section? Or we are just asking things for nothing?
The logic is: Home location where you grew up as a child, so you shouldn't ever have to change it since where you grew up in the same forever.
Not a big fan of it but I understand the logic.
And you still get reviews from where you last opened up Ingress, so setting a home location doesn't prevent you from reviewing locally.
I do wish we could change the bonus location more than once a year though, but I guess it's to prevent gaming the system. If a decent group of reviewers got together internationally, they could change bonus locations to each member of the group's town and approved all their stuff quickly, and change to the next member. Having a time limit helps prevent that. Though one year is just so dang long, it prevents people from swapping locations much because it's Too Awesome to Use.
I guess a coordinated effort could game the system if a large group of people went after the same bonis location, but why can't there be some kind of set up where Niantic see where reviews are needed and opens up an area to be available for an agent to choose when their queue runs dry. Maybe they present you with three choices from the 100 S2 cells with the longest backlogs or the least reviewers per submission.
if home location is where you grew up as a child, does that mean I should set my home location 14,000 km away and 20+ years in the past?
Yes, that's exactly what it means.
Some people actually move around though, personally I grew up in 2 different areas in my childhood so being able to switch wouldn’t be an awful option.
I'm throwing this onto the Krug AMA pile.
I can top that. I'm an army brat. I moved literally ten times before I turned 18.
I recognize that I'm an edge case here, but it still does happen.
But that’s my point, I agree Home shouldn’t be locked forever. I have lived in 3 states about 10 years each of my live and know them all very well.
seems kind of ridiculous, as I am that disconnected from where I grew up that I don't recognise the place at all any more
