guess we’ll see if Pokémon Go reviewers will be the bane that ruins portals or not.

heads up: no matter what happens, people will say they saved the game and people will say they ruined it

Pokestop Nomination were made available to Mexican Pogo players 17 October 2018 (most news are from the 18.)

    Coincidence?

  • Based upon the limited amount of submissions I get from areas of Mexico that are close enough to the US to be thrown in the queue, there should be enough good candidates to make their play area substantially better without having every trash can become a pokestop. Just hope they realize their house is probably not going to be one unless they happen to live next door to a church.

Mexico has had nominations for awhile. It was just turned back on after the photo bug got fixed.

  • If they stick to the criteria and boost my agreements it’s all cool. After the medal my carrot is the upgrades.

  • On my local pogo groups there are already people who did not pass the test lol

My wife passed it and she started to review, after few reviews one portal went live, so probably they have the same power than us reviewing...

So here's what I'm worried about.

How is Niantic determining who can take the reviewer test? Presumably the same way they check how you can submit, by S2 cells' geographic location. So a trainer might be able to spoof to Mexico, or have a friend log in to their account in Mexico or something, and they can take the test.

They might also have an IP restriction for web access, but you can get around that with a VPN.

So if you have someone who spoofed to Mexico and using a Mexican IP address, they could take the test and pass.

And assuming Niantic won't let you access the reviewer site unless your account was last in Mexico or you're using an Mexican IP address, they can set home or bonus location to wherever else they are in the world and review local stuff that way.

So you might have a bunch of non-spanish speakers mucking around in Mexican Waypoint reviews messing up the agreement ratings because they're new to reviewing AND don't speak the local language just so they can try and review their own local stuff.

Unless they can review from where their account last, or using a non-Mexican IP address. Heck, maybe they can just get local reviews if they last were in their non-Mexican hometown as long as their IP address is Mexican.

I wonder what this does to the 'must be approved by both factions' rule?

  • Hopefully at first reviews will still need to be done by at least a few Ingress players from each faction, but that’s a great point.

  • I can't figure out links but the sliph road subreddit has a Mexican trainer complaining about German submissions. So, may be a concern.

Eh, getting random international submissions happens though. I've gotten stuff from China and Europe, and I get Spanish language Mexican portal reviews all the time even though I'm an English speaking American.

  • great for the mexicans, i still cannot enter, wayfarer dont let me do the test and iam lvl 12 ingress player, why did they even close wayfarer test for ''newly'' lvl 12 ingress agents, are they going to test the servers with pogo accounts? is pretty well known its a lot of accounts anyway i dont see why blocking ingress players for now solves something

  • probably need, blue and green plus yellow, red and blue from pogo

  • It does not work that way aparently.

In my local group there are a lot of spoofers, they all got the mail that they were elegible but for some, for some reasons wayfare tells them that its not available in their country yet lol. So my guess is that niantic took a a country where they did a raid or hold a last gym or whatever did, and country lock them. Few of them claim that they were playing localy when they recieved the notification so who knows. But placing a pokemon on a gym wont grant them access. At least not now.

Since yesterday, I had about 55-65 % on the upgrade list, once pogo went live on wayfare my agreement went from that 55-65 to 100 to get an upgrade. And right now its on 83%, i am sure i will get another upgrade today. 2 agreements in less than 24 hours ;o

Probably should be change to certain percentages from each game must approve. How this will include reviewers who play both games is up in the air.

The country is determined by the login, Facebook or Google account settings. Same as Ingress.

To change it, you need to provide a valid address in the new country. That's not something that most spoofers are willing to do.

Exactly I get a ton of border submissions coming through as it is to vote on and most of them aren't that bad to be honest.
