[URGENT] ACTION REQUIRED: Portal Edits via Prime are not reflected on the Intel Map

I've been receiving dozens of ACCEPTED Portal Edits that were submitted via Ingress Prime and even though they're approved, they are not reflected on the Intel Map.

The question is: Will these ACCEPTED Portal Edits ever be reflected on the Intel Map? Or are they completely lost?

I've been talking to lots of people in the Wayfarer Community and everyone seems to have the same problem.

Can NIA please clarify WHETHER OR NOT ACCEPTED Portal Edits are lost?

Maybe they were rejected but the email response is bugged.

Can you see the edits in the scanner?

  • No, they were not rejected. Most of my Edits aim to fix misspelled words in the Portal title and add descriptions to Portals that previously didn't have any information. This is also happening for location edits that are obviously valid and were accepted.

The emails are not bugged. In fact, having contacted Ingress Support, they've copy pasted a simple template saying:

We have reviewed the Portal edit in question and confirm that it was accepted. This Portal should now be updated on your Scanner and on the Intel Map.

  • You are going to have post to those Portals that you are discussing.

At least let Niantic know which ones you are worried about.

  • What do you mean? This is affecting everyone, not just me. I just want NIA to fix the bug.

How does Niantic know what portals are you ( and everyone) are being affected by this?

Which portals have not been edited?

  • This is not about any specific portals. There’s no need to list the Portals affected because that would be listing ALL existing Portals.

This bug affects all ACCEPTED Portal Edits that are submitted via Prime.

disagree. several renames done as requested. also location edits works well

  • I disagree. I asked around my Community, and many have seen their Edits go through.

  • Are you sure? Or were the edits submitted via REDACTED?

  • Are you sure? Maybe those edits were sent with REDACTED.

  • Have been submitting edits through Prime and getting results. No issues here.

You need to supply examples, copies of emails, screen shots of intel showing details etc, you can't just say theres a problem and not provided any proof.

I and others have submitted edit requests on Prime and not had any issues, so your claim that this bug is effecting everyone just isn't accurate.

How can you expect anyone to believe you without supplying proof, or NIA to fix it without supplying them any details either

  • I had also a portal move with Prime accepted and the portal location was not updated. I assumed it was rejected and the accepting mail was erroneous. I requested move again with Redacted and it was moved.

  • I haven't done an edit in a while I don't think, but, the responses you used to get didn't say 'your' edit was successful.

    It said the following:

"Thanks for submitting an Ingress Portal edit; we've reviewed all agents' proposed edits for this Portal (including yours), and we have implemented those that improve its overall quality."

Which just indicates the edit has been reviewed, someone else could have had their edit accepted etc etc, or none at all.

As others have said, supply examples.

  • FYI, there are more people reporting the same issue on Reddit. I don’t know how much an overlap there is between posters here and there (didn’t recognise usernames in common)...

    https://reddit.com/r/Ingress/comments/dk4my7/my_accepted_portal_edits_are_not_appearing_on_the/

  • Seems at least one person on that reddit thread understands how to read the emails.

  • If it says that, then your edit was accepted. The "not accepted" response is different.

"Thanks for submitting an Ingress Portal edit suggestion; our player community reviewed all Agents’ proposed edits for this Portal (including yours) and have decided not to accept your suggestion. Please review the Edits Guidelines to ensure your suggestions meet the criteria."

Similarly if the submission review message says "duplicate or too close", it means duplicate and never too close. If it's too close, the message won't mention "duplicate" at all.

  • "If it says that, then your edit was accepted. The "not accepted" response is different."

Unless something has changed since my last 'reviewed' edit, then it doesn't mean your/my edit was the chosen one, it literally means all edits associated with that portal, have been reviewed, and some have been implemented.

It does not mean your/my edit was the successful one.

  • The Redacted email system had the potential to send separate accept/reject letters for different edits for the same portal.

In December 2018, I made two edits on a portal. One month later OPR came to a consensus: one of my edits was accepted and one was rejected.

I haven’t had any edits accepted since Prime came out, so don’t know if their email response system is the same or not, but this shows that under Redacted it could and did send a ‘rejected’ email even if other edits for that portal were accepted.

  • For whatever it’s worth, I know of a situation about a month ago where the same edit that had been submitted about a year before by two agents was finally resolved. One got an email saying hers was approved and another got an email saying that hers was rejected. Same edit (maybe even character-for-character; it was something very simple) with replies at the same time.

  • I wouldn't put it past the system detecting multiple identical edits for title / description, and queuing them up, if the first ones, or any of the identical ones down the line are accepted, the rest get denied (as they would then be an edit to an identical title / description.

But like we're now understanding with the in queue / in voting statuses

  • I'm pretty sure that people saying that their Portal Edits are reflected to the Intel Map are still receiving responses to their old [REDACTED] edits. This is not a sporadic bug nor a particular bug to my account. This is affecting everyone and everyone is pissed off about it. No Portal Edits coming from Prime are reflected to the Intel Map. This is not an opinion. It's a fact.

I can give you DOZENS of examples, including this capitalization simple edit, which I just received:

It was obviously accepted, and the email says so, but the name remains unchanged.

  • Just had a Redacted edit get approved from an interstate trip and changes are live on Intel.

Didn’t use Prime for any edits over there unfortunately, and stuff here doesn’t ever come back, so no counter examples I can provide.

  • I’ve had the same problem with a location edit in Prime. Fairly straightforward one, where the pin isn’t on the POI. Received the acceptance email, but the changes haven’t been implemented on the scanner.

  • @NianticCasey and @RedSoloCup this is URGENT. Can you please take a look?

  • Same here, last night three edits came back, one is rejected ("...and have decided to not accept your suggestion..."), two were accepted ("...and we have implemented those that improve its overall quality..."). The two accepted location edits are still in their old spot.

All location edits were made through prime. One of these portals is not only in the wrong location but also in the way of museum which I would love to add to the portal network.

  • I emailed Niantic and got this, not very helpful, reply:

  • I got that useless template a million times, until they finally admitted the problem:
