Unique logo. I'd consider it art, and give it five stars.
I'd even rate the business itself highly, if someone had submitted that. Checked it on google,:an Impressive-looking building, been there since 1965, 5.0 average review rating. Definitely counts as a unique local business.

Generic business?
Based purely on the image.
It's clearly trying to nominate the metal diamond, not the store though.
Which is just a corporate logo.
Representing the generic business housed within the building.

Appreciate both your insights. Thanks!
I reviewed this, I gave it one star as a generic business. The logo is a pretty typical depiction of a diamond and not nearly artistic enough to qualify this for a better rating than that.
1-star. It's is a building sign, and a rather generic one at that. Just because the business's logo is included as part of the building sign doesn't make it any less generic.
Would the business itself be better with the info Zaltys found? I looked after he mentioned it and it is pretty impressive. 50+ years family owned and operated and the only jeweler in the town besides some etsy dealer who shows up on Google. Looks so professional I would've sworn it was owned by Zales or something.
1star generic business
It is no more generic than any bar or pub that has been approved.
Generic business is meant for places like McDonalds and Pizza Hut, chains with identical stores. This is clearly not a generic business. As far as jewelry stores go -- and those aren't all that common to begin with -- this is at the top the class. The logo itself is larger than most of the generic jewelry stores I've seen.
I asked about things like this in the AMA.
I don't really think a jewelry store meets criteria though unless it had an outstanding story or history in the town more than just being a long standing business. It's not a hotspot/gathering place like a bar or pub.
But also people need to stop abusing the 1* generic business rejection. If this doesn't meet criteria choose that and write in. Stop being lazy.
I think you're confusing the word "generic" with the word "franchise". Something can be one of a kind and still be generic.
Agree with the business not really making POI, but a 6-10 ft tall diamond metalwork is pretty cool. It may not be the most unique art design ever but it is still art.
