Guideline controversy again
Ok, this is remarkable , and an understatement at that. All those little rules and guidelines we've had to put together using faqs, guides, ama's, and now recently the court case regarding private residential property...
I open up Wayfarer, and the showcase of a 'beautiful example of a Wayspot' is a mural painted on someone's house:
I checked: if you walk around you'll see a residential property, a narrow house that stretches towards the southwest.
Does this mean murals on houses are now acceptable?? If so, I'll get my paint can.

If it's a multiple family building (condominium / apartment complex), it is valid. Only single family residential property is disallowed.
They've recently rejected takedown appeals of the same, but in the UK.
I assume that the featured spots are generated by an algorithm based on what has passed recently in your area. So if people in your area passes PRP incorrectly, it could appear there.
(I haven’t looked at that portal in detail to judge whether or not I think it’s valid, just pointing out that appearing there probably doesn’t mean ‘Niantic sanctioned’, despite the text.)
I'm seeing ones that are in the same country as me, but nowhere near to myself, home or bonus locations.
I tried logging in via a vpn, to see if it was up based, stayed the same.
The guidelines are going to be controversial for a little while the new set is too ambiguous and just went against AMA responses and it will show when agents start losing status due to there being a disagreement on how to vote.
I see now it probably picks existing port.. I mean Wayspots that were accepted under old guidelines. But with the court case and all, I think it's kinda silly to put a clear private home up as the showcase as an example..
It's not a single residence private home, it's an apartment complex. The mural is even on the side of a painted parking lot.
I've never seen a single family home with a paved parking lot and painted lines. That's just going to the next level to get a home portal if true.
It's a house next door to a supermarket car park: https://www.google.com/maps/@51.2959646,4.4991438,3a,75y,193.53h,86.44t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s40sgMe2Q3gZIDW71DFon4Q!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
You can physically touch the portal without trespassing. And it's placed on a parking lot, not somebody's private residential property. Of it was on
Physically the actual poi is on prp.
The fact you can legally touch it, doesn't make it right.
I've seen many, end terrace etc
