Did you like the Ingress Prime and continue play Ingress?

Only things I know. What would force me to leave sooner than version change is impossibly bad play experience. ( Trying to get in takes forever, trying to do an action takes forever/triggers a reboot ejection.)

Still trying, but performance of Prime is really bad, it crashes or freezes too often i.e. every other hour and the totally unnecessary "speed ban" after switching between the other Niantic games all make playing Ingress currently a painful experience.

I've been using Prime almost exclusively since January 2019. While I have run into the occasional problem (ex. couldn't interact with random portals, crashing ever couple of hours when mass-deploying/micro-fielding, not stable at low bandwidths), I've come to like it far better than Redacted as my daily driver.

For starters, the map screen is far easier to work with, looks a lot cleaner and is easier to see things underneath fields. The main issue is that XM itself isn't very visible unless the scanner pulses. And since it pules are not very frequent, I would often miss any environmental XM I could pick up while hacking/fielding.

I also like the fast linking (sometimes too fast) and the inventory management (mass recycle low level bursters and US for the win). I also like that I can easily access the settings screen, go to my inventory, see scores, see missions, and the occasional times I go into the store without having to go through a scroll menu, which was completely unintuitive on Redacted.

  • I dislike Prime but will take part in the upcoming Anomaly series - maybe the last one.

    Me: yes.

My gf: no, because her phone burned up yesterday on the ifs, the first she used prime.

I continue with Prime and never give up Ingress! 👍🏻💙

  • Yes I have.

Amazingly, while folks I play directly with have had a lot of grief with lock-ups and app crashes I haven't had those at all (using an S10+; fingers crossed that continues). In fairly active play since the 30th I don't think I've had to unexpectedly reboot even once.

In addition I've been using Prime off and on for a long time to get used to it. Came to really like recharging, key management, capsule and key locker use, and much more.

Glyphing in Prime is still not as seamless and is trickier to do fast as the dot-grid is a fair bit smaller on my screen than was Redacted, I'm adapting quickly enough.

Looking forward to more refinement, server side power and stability, and granularity of app control (looking at you recharge vibration), but I'm generally optimistic.

  • I like prime a lot. I've used it since June

  • Have been using Prime for the last few months. It's got a few problems still but is basically sound, and I'm sure it'll improve.

When I went back to Redacted for some nostalgic play just before it was withdrawn it felt slightly ... crappy ... in comparison.
