Feature Request - Portal Sheilding deminishes with distance from portal center
I thought of an interesting way to add a little more depth to resonator placements. Currently, it's best to put resonators as far away from a portal's center as possible, to make opponents use more of their weapons to take out the resonators.
But, what if portal shields' mitigation factor diminished the further the resonators are placed from the center of a portal? Then, I think it would add a bit more strategy when placing resonators, because when placing a resonator, one would need to consider:
- Is the portal going to be shielded? How heavily?
- Resonator distance from other resonators vs distance to the center of the portal.
- Resonator location in general (middle of street, over a cliff, whatever.)
To add even more strategy in resonator placement, one could add a shielding effect if a resonator is placed within a certain distance to another resonator, so closely placed resonators would shield each other. Or, there could be different types of shelids. For instance, there could be a shield that covers a wide area but doesn't mitigate much damage, and there could be a shield that hevily shields near a portal but whose strength quickly diminishes the further a resonator is from a portal's center.
