Possible way to help OPR
How would this be as a compromise
Instead of risking opening the flood gates to thousands and thousands of trainers all at once for each area. What if Niantic introduced something similar to the 'Special research tasks.
Maybe connected to the pogo OPR Interface.
It could have a range of tasks e.g. Visit 500 unique gyms/stops etc
With the aim to gate the number of people suddenly submitting or participating in OPR while helping them prepare for the responsibility.
Also and for me this would be a big one, crack down on things like spoofing so for instance if your account is detected cheating you lose all progress and a 2nd offence mean submitting and OPR privileges are permanently locked out of the account.
OPR could use some reinforcement and this way might help stop/weed out some of the 2nd and 3rd accounts and make it more of s gradual reinforcement instead of a mass wave

The tasks would have to be tied to the actual OPR reviewing though. Someone who visits 500 stops doesn't necessarily know what the criteria for portals are. I can visit 500 stops without leaving my neighborhood.
On the other end of things, I would have to travel over 200 miles just to visit 500 unique portals. That was what I had to do durign the unique hack challenged back in July.
I don't disagree that it might be a challenge for some. My point was that completing that challenge would not necessarily improve your ability to review portals.
I like the idea of Ingress players being able to nominate local PoGo/HPWU players they can mentor into nominations/OPR. I'm scared for the day PoGo players in the US bury all our nominations.
It'll happen. We need to leverage PoGo reviewers before we get US submissions.
All unrealistic solutions. Not going to fly. As it stands pokemon still out performs ingress and ingress players are the ones who created the prp issue in the first place.
Ive explained it before, the PRP issue you reference is related to the lawsuit which was about trespassing. It had nothing to do with portals or stops or POI. It has to do with spawn points based on cellular data.
Also, these solutions and thoughts are much better than anything you’ve suggested.
There unrealistic. Ingress players were the ones who created the prp submissions. Ingress players cell data is from where they were trying to get submissions added previously. Your only looking at what could keep ingress being above others. When it will be equal across the board.... only chance of an increase for ingress is by having increase votes that I suggested lol. But you all turn down and ignore.
Cell data has absolutely nothing to do with ingress players, other than we are a minority in the usage of mobile phones.
You live to post stupid stuff? The PRP lawsuit was from people going onto private property to catch rare POKÉMON spawns. Nobody's trespassing to nail ultra strikes 🙄
No the spawn points were added from cellular data unrelated to Ingress it’s the same why XM was mapped. You are clueless and literally are citing stuff you don’t know or understand.
Im sure Ingress players have trespassed before however the actual PRO case you are referencing is about Pokémon Go. They didn’t tell people to go look for a Charizard in someone’s back yard.
I guess we will see when niantic decides on what they are going to do.
Then give it a rest mumbling, and wait.
Don't want to stop your steamrolling opinion, but the "PRP Issue" you're referring to, was created by Niantic reviewers. Long before OPR was launched, PRP changed to an instant refusal, and by and large OPR reviewers are more aggressive about rejecting PRP than Niantic ever was.
Remember, Niantic put 5 million submissions into the network before OPR and we've only added 2-3 million since then.
How the topic goes off the rails, was just suggesting a possible way we could reinforce OPR but at the same time prevent suddenly have 1000s of people all suddenly reviewing portals foe the first time on the same day.
Your right was just something off the top of my head (though a number like that would be harder to achieve then the same in portals). The thought was just as 1 task/requirement to get pogo trainers out and exploring further then just there usual playbox.
But also other task to linked to OPR reviewing
As oppose to your? Gating content behind task that require a minimum amount of time is standard practice (oh how I remember the WOW days).
Why wouldn't they 'fly? Some might kick up a stink while most would just accept it and roll with it
Since there are a few similar topics
What about this for a possible idea
If they opened up OPR to pogo, each nomination needed to be reviewed by x amount of trainers (say 50).
Nominations that are rated poor get rejected, that should clear out a fair number
The high rated ones then get put in the Ingress OPR rating piles. With a reduced number of Agents needing to rate them then is currently required (May be half or a third). Basically the agents are spot checking before the successful ones are approved.
As time goes on and trainers that have rated x amount of nominations and have x amount of agreements (high percentage), then they can be promoted as needed to increase OPR speed
There should also be more QA and spot checks. An account (from any game) consistently approving junk should be subject to the 3 strikes rule.
That would be almost impossible as what u think shouldn't be in 100 pogo players will accept and you will be the one who ends up getting a poor rating.
I think what your going to have to do is wait and see what happens or die out like the dinosaurs.
