Portal Visibility and Suggestions
I have issues with the portal visibility especially with neutral portals. Currently I have set my Dynamic Lighting setting to the lowest while my phones brightness setting is at high.
This results in the XM becoming vividly bright. Due to this, I have trouble in identifying neutral portals in areas with high clusters of XM.
One suggestion that I would like to recommend is provide more sliders which affects the visibility of different visual assets in the game.
If it would help, I'm using a Pocophone F1 installed with the latest build.

I encounter the opposite effect.
XM isn't visible
One step back two builds ago
One of the things which add up for a worse visibility is that, on Prime, everything is visually covered by field. On Redacted, everything except for roads is above a field. So no matter of how many layers there are, everything is still clear to see. I'd prefer Redacted way here.
I agree. Neutral portals are incredibly hard to see with their diminutive size, and while I know that xm is a pinkish colour in Prime my mind still parses the small blips that are the neutral portals as lumps of xm.
I'd really like a way of making portals a uniform size no matter their status or current energy level.
Yes neutral portals are a bit difficult to see. Several times doing a banner i must bike back because i missed a portal.
From te getgo of prime I have had a hard time finding neutral portals. With the slider it hasn't gotten any better for me.
Zooming in and out does not change it either.
Would somebody please adress this issue?
There was a suggestion that to change the Dynamic Lighting settings between middle and high, this does reduce some of the vividness of XM. It works but you won't have that Dark mode feel in the scanner. and it does help in seeing the neutral portals.
Completely agree. Very pretty and almost invisible. It's almost as if the developers don't play the game outside.
nianticbrian confirmed its a bug affecting some highend devices like samsung s10/ iphone 11 etc..
Both xm and neutral portals are hard for me to see.
Portals are just vertical lines, which look like glare, or trail segments. Some photos show more rays bursting from the sides of the portals, which would be a big help. Fancy flaming picture popup might help too, but these dont consistently appear.
Xm isn't an easy color to see. I wish it was white swirling dots like it was with scanner. I' be happy if it was at least a lighter color. Like lavender.
Roads and buildings also dont show very well.
Red, purple, and gray are quite dark, even with bare eyes, but especially through sun glasses. Can't see XM, or badge progress, and warning texts ar gone before I can focus on the first word.
With dynamic lighting as high as possible. I can usually **** some XM, but can't spot agent trails or anything like that.
I'd like to also point out that a lot of the agents I meet are retired folks, and/or people with glasses.
Did designers consider the visually impaired?

Some photos show more rays bursting from the sides of the portals on other devices, which would be a huge help. Fancy flaming pictures sometimes popup when I get close to range. If that was more consistent it would be nice, but there's no rhyme or reason so it's just confusing.

Roads and buildings also dont show very well, because they are grey. Brighter roads would be nice. Speaking of which, railroads dont show at all in prime. They were easy to see in ingress.

Please go out and betta test in full sunlight some time, devs.

Did designers consider the visually impaired? They're kind of a major demographic.
