When Krug or Cassy was asked about it before, they stated that Niantic wanted the warnings to be permanent. Given that my two warnings were for "profanity" back in July, the first in the "Rules of Ingress" topic were I posted "Don't be a ..." and the second for typing out the expanded form of the acronym CYA.

It's awful that you're being punished because of a malicious user's abuse of the system. I hate how Niantic just doesn't care and will let trolls and abusers stay around and punish the people who try and correct them and call them out.

You, who actually provides important insight and valuable discussion to the forum, can't post topics? Absurd. I wish the admins would pay more attention to this. Long timers who worked hard in ingress being punished while bad actors who buy accounts can just go on to buy more when their current ones are trashed.

Too bad I can't say any names or put myself at risk of being warned again by flag abusers.

It's too bad you can get warned for flagging said abusers if the mods think it's perfectly fine for them to say portals should be on school property.

I wish I could say we could directly ask an admin about it, or ask andrew krug about it in an AMA, but I doubt they'd pay attention or care enough to read anything. They've already punished people for not treating a cheating, school stalking, bad faith user with the Utmost Polite Attitude.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

Wait you got warning for the expanses CYA? Omg...

its fun how people with over 1k points can have multiple flags despite the community pretty much vouching for them...

  • GearGliderGearGlider ✭✭✭✭✭

Dudes already bought his account. Clearly is already fine breaking TOS. What’s to stop him from making or buying a new account once this one is trashed. Or multi-accounting and spamming flags that way? Niantic admins are paying attention to this thread and know his rule breaking and dangerous school ideas. Haven’t done anything about it. Punished other people’s joking about him or repeating thing he’s said. Niantic is clearly fine with him telling other people To trusspass school property, fine with him stalking and doxing other users.

the silence and inaction is clearly showing that his behavior is allowed and okay with Niantic. So why bother correcting him? Let Niantic deal with another lawsuit when his actions get them in trouble.

So the last 4 or so pages have again gone off topic.....hopefully they expand the Q&A for Pogo players that genuinely want to try and submit good quality POI that have so far just been missed by Agents.

My advice I will pass on to any trainers that are unsure will be NEVER approve anything of school ground (kindy/daycare etc) included. Playgrounds, athletics fields or yes even the Moan Lisa (If for some reason it was move to a local school) all are immediately ineligible due to there location regardless of the quality of the POI is otherwise.

I would also remind them that temporary displays are ineligible this includes if the same e.g. decorations are placed up yearly in the same locations that it is still temporary.

In regards to stadiums, the stadium itself (usual entrance etc), sculptors around the stadium other unique think would be acceptable. Anything on the fields I would at best 2* it and 1* for safe to access as public access onto the field is unlikely and required (example: theme park attractions etc are allowed but if they are located in an area the public isn't allowed they would be ineligible.

I may also 1* such a submission as temporary since (I know little about the NFL so I could be mistaken) the NFL season seems to be 17 weeks out of 52 and that the stadium is likely used for other sports and events which would mean that the logo would be replaced and basically not exist for the majority of the year which I would define as temporary

It is maintained all year and for events. There is maintenance employees and others that are allowed. It is reachable by the first few rows in game.

Per niantic rules are rules and it's a athletic field & art and niantic states and has it clearly written and allowed. No different than other public athletic fields. Baseball bases and home plates are taken nightly so they are not stole. Football fields dont have lines all year at public fields without turf. Tennis courts dont always have nets. Volleyball courts cant be used all year due to weather and sand pits. No different than malls that close every day. No different than an island only reachable by boat during spring and summer. Or renfest that is 9 weeks out of 52.... There is plenty on the field and around the front rows of the stadium that can reach and use it. Per guide it is clearly allowed. Stadium is used more than just the season. Draft events purple fridays, monster jams and other concerts. Yes the portal would be used. And is the home of the ravens, and people know the location if they were tourist they would want to plan around being able to use it. No different than the Washington monument, it was undergoing repairs and never removed. Repairs exist on many different building types as well has renovations occur. Doesn't mean it doesn't exist and not a landmark..... landmarks are allowed.

  • Access there is plenty of sidewalks and foot access for the poi to have a better rating for access.

Oh wait, only clarification on an athletic field is prp.....

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

You seemed to misunderstand most (maybe all) stadiums have to have different sports use them during different seasons to manage costs. During the off season the POI may not be maintained and instead changed to the local other sports team that used the stadium in the NFL off season. IF that was the case the POI would be classed as temporary.

As a reviewer and looking at that picture I would be more likely to think it is unreachable from the stands. Also question when the public has access to the field to interact with the POI.

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

I thank you for your feedback even though it is off topic

Since there is no line under this that provides any exceptions I will continue to review by this thank you. I will take your thinking on the subject into consideration when I recieve inquires from trainers that they to might mistakenly not realise that the ineligible trump all else.

  • All sports fields aren't able to be used all year round. It's no difference. Renfest has portals and only open 9 week of the year and the portals remain all year because of maintenance staff for the stadium and other events that use it. It is a landmark.

I'm confused maybe due to the off topic nature of the statement. A sports field is allowed or atleast something on/connect to it...unless it's on school grounds which makes everything else void.

A stadium is alowed along with things surrounding the stadium, in the stands etc....Just not logos painted on the grass in the middle of the field. If you would like to submit that question in the next AMA I would of course alter my reviewing stance if I am proven incorrect. Until such time I will continue to use both the guidelines and my own common sense/judgement on these and all submissions

  • It is a nature feature with a manmade object. It is a symbol that is large and is a sign and well known. It is allowed. Exactly what you all asked for. Something pretty to the community that they would enjoy. Baltimore is the home of the baltimore ravens. It should be a portal. That it had to be located on the field and the most recognizable spot. Baseball diamonds you all stated had to be located on the home plate for submissions. Basketball courts has to have it on it. Playgrounds had to be on the playground. That it had to be painted to be approved. Had to be artwork. I'm sorry but its allowed. An a valid submission. Its known as the center of the stadium. The 50 yard line and on the athletic field. It is allowed per guide.

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

I diagree and think the stadium must be home to far more appropriate submissions. I respect your right to your opion and your right to express that opion by submitting it. Please respect my opion/judgement that I exercise when I review.

I would happily submit and vote yes on a cricket pitch in a park but I would not vote to approve one in the middle of the MCG

  • A mountain top submission has to be located on the top. Not everyone can reach it.

A island submission has to be located on the island. Not everyone can reach it.

It has foot access confirmed in the picture by the people. People are allowed in pictures like of the Eiffel tower.. it is no different than the 50 yard line for any of them.

  • Rejecting this is rejecting all art in museums as they all can not be physically touched.

Water towers because your not publicly supposed to be on them and you cant touch the art. As there isnt accessible foot access to the art. As they are usually within 40m of prp.

Silos because your not publicly supposed to be on them and you cant touch the art. Typically are on farms and prp. As there isnt accessible foot access to the art.

Eiffel tower because you cant use all of it.

White house because it is restricted to limited access to public...

Every major country, state, city hall and capital building. As they are secure and limited access.

Every portal in malls. As you cant access them at night.

Statue of liberty go ahead and take down. Limited access.

Water fountains turn them off too. As they are temporary each day. With hours they are turned off.

Just about everything has limited access and is a known location of a city or an area. Or a sports field. Just happens to have pretty artwork on it when the public uses it.

It's a live grass field and it is there. Needs to grow and is maintained yearly.

Picture clearly has foot access to it.

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

The island and the mountain top are open to the public the physical fitness or effort it takes to reach the POI is irrelevant

  • You aren't going to get the 50 yard line as a portal. The stadium already IS a portal. If you want the portal on the field submit an edit and hope your locals are as big of goofballs as you are. Actually, now that you're bringing attention to it...

  • It takes fitness to walk to the center of the stadium.

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

We seem to be at am impasse, you won't be able to change my view by trying to bully me and you won't accept any of my views. So no point continuing

50 yard line is apart of the athletic field and field does not have a portal for the artwork or the field on it.

  • KliffingtonKliffington ✭✭✭✭✭

If those portals are for seperate signs/entrances than it's not a duplicate. They're far from eachother

  • I'm aware. They're both for the stadium itself and titled as such. That's why I didn't mark any others.

  • Location is confirmed. We are all not arguing the location correct?

We are not arguing the image and not being visually unique...

We are not arguing the culture.

We are not arguing the history of the 50 yard line.

We are not arguing if it is accessible. As there are people in the photo.

We are arguing that it was my submission and if its valid.

It is a athletic field without a portal. As such it is valid per niantic wayfarer.

    There is no duplicates...

(Side note: I'm impressed you can see your grandson on the satellite view; I can't pick people out at all.)

I wouldn't be certain that the satellite tiles in your area are from the same time period as those from the stadium area, and in this case I suspect they are different. I am quite certain the stadium images are from late July, 2017. Some time in the summer of 2017 would make sense based on other clues, but this pretty much clinches it. See the sign pieces on the ground here?

Apparently they installed new signs in late July 2017, which you can learn about here:

Show me where athletic fields is written and what section it's written in. Looks like this right? And newer than you stuff...

Signs are separated. And far enough apart. Ravens 50 yard line is a sign on a monumental location for the center of the stadium.. art acts as the sign.

Athletic fields are eligible. Only restriction as of wayfarer is clearly written in the same paragraph and disclosed under the purposely confusing area.... it is allowed everywhere! It is new information given and as such allowed.

Playgrounds were clarified in this new criteria section that was adjusted to limit schools. It is the only one to specifically include schools. Athletic fields did not.

  • @Jasonwhut what is publicly accessible because of the dual use agreements in baltimore county? Sports fields....

  • And if there is still doubt as to the permanence of the the 50 yard line Ravens logo artwork, this is from a video made last July. I don't see any markings whatsoever on the field, let alone artwork:

Regardless of any its other merits or lack thereof, I'd reject right away for being temporary/seasonal and for having recognizable individuals in the picture.
