  • A hyper hot spot to some and others may not know. @imseethru does live about 20 miles away. How well do you know areas, 20 miles away from your house? Okay but not the greatest?

  • @TimerCIock your word play is what's killing your nominations. You don't need to call it a hidden gem or hotspot or anything else ridiculous. If you see a sheltered area like a pavilion or gazebo that you think should be a portal, just find the name on it (e.g. NameOnSign Pavilion, or Pavilion A, etc) and in the description talk about why it's important to the community. Avoid using any hotspot/gem terminology in any it. And just in case...

  • I dont need a description if you guys review things properly.... and I'm allowed to identify the criteria met per niantic, if I want.

    Title is fine...

You are still trying to use Hyper Local Spot and hidden gem entirely wrong. A picnic table will never And is never a hyper local or hidden gem. They are boring and generic.

Generic, And should And will be denied by EVERYONE. Face it, they will never pass.

  • The guide clearly says they will need something significant about them to pass. If you refuse to provide information to support that, you will continue to be denied. No, you don't HAVE to provide a description, but likewise, nobody will HAVE to approve your nominations if they don't qualify. Making a fool of yourself isn't changing anyone's reviewing process. I've tried giving you positive supportive help and you'd rather argue than improve your nominations.

  • Significant about a picnic area and fishing spots? It doesn't say anywhere in guide they need to be significant. Sorry....

You can't bully people Into voting the incorrect why I believe you are interpreting the guideline. When I want to do OPR, I will review how I believe the guidelines state.

Anything on public land is put there will the community in mind, The bench I'm waiting on to catch a bus inclluded.

Ironically the most likely place a picnic area/ table may get approved IS along a hiking trail. As that would actually be both useful information and of interest to the people that go hiking for miles that will know where one is located

  • Could you read the highlighted selection please? Out loud for the class.

  • Title is the surroundings. Not the picnic tables. So therefore it is about the nature and surroundings.

  • Custom unique raven's artwork and rejected? With a 360 interior photo. Idiotic rejection... and people complain about legit submissions at parks.

Seeing one of your previous nominations which had a description that was entirely unacceptable (because you demanded the nomination be accepted), I won't judge the validity of the rejection on just the nomination's image alone.

Description is allowed for things I put in it per Niantic.... Please change your opinion... because you were incorrect in your response.

  • TheFarixTheFarix ✭✭✭✭✭

You are not showing anything else, but the nomination's image. That alone isn't enough to judge if the nomination meet the criteria for acceptance.

  • It's located in a bar. Yet rejection because again reviewers do not follow the rules.

  • Change your response. Because descriptions are not required and allowed to be told what criteria it meets.

The absolute lack of effort you put into a submission is trash. You should be ashamed...

Edit: This is not to say this isnt an acceptable piece of art... this is to say you are Lazy and should actually care about what you are submitting.

Edit 2: Here is an example I used for a trail marker. See actual effort in knowing my nomination....

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

Description is supposed to be about the actual POI and not "Hey this is a piece of art so approve" FYI.

You can do that in the sub statement all you want.

  • TheFarixTheFarix ✭✭✭✭✭

Whether descriptions are "required" very much depends on the POI that is being submitted. Churches, sports fields, playgrounds, and public pools don't need a description. However, if you are attempting to submit a hidden gem or hyper-local spot, then you very much need a description. Otherwise, a reviewer isn't going to know that the location fits the category form just a photo, title, and a waypoint on the map.

Now the description in your photo isn't immediately rejection worthy, but there was very little effort put into it. At least nothing that will stand out that it is "a cool piece of art" in its own right rather than a blatant attempt to use it as a stand-in for the bar. But that is a whole other wart on the toad in itself.

  • Single image. It was from the rejection and provided the letter too. It was clear it was in a bar with a 360 interior photo for the support photo.

Absolute effort I put into submissions is allowed, when no effort is required by niantic. Change your response thanks. As I put some effort into it.

    360 interior photo.

    A description.

    A submitters notes.

And taking a great photo of a valid submission.

That is just ingress players being overly ridiculous with submissions. Demanding more than is required.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

I think it should be approved first off. The art is unique. However, the title is boring, the description is lame and makes someone think you just want a portal at your favorite bar.

So yes you are lazy, and I will not change my response. Put real effort into your descriptions. While not required certainly help get things approved. Also are you sure your 360 was actually approved to google? Are you sure the orientation was right?

  • It is a valid title. It is a title with what it really is. Not a made up name.... it is valid.

Orientation and everything was correct as it is a 360 pan view of the interior as the support photo. More than sufficient.

Name it Raven's Wooden Ornate Wall Art

If you know who made it and when that is wonderful information to put in the submissions. I know its not fair but stuff indoors is much harder to get approved.

    PSA PSA PSA PSA

For any poor sole that wanders into this abyss of a thread here is a run down to save you some time.

Initially I saw a flawed argument and thought it would be an interesting discussion with different sides making a case, using evidence to back up there side. But this thread has NEVER been about a discussion and instead about someone deciding he knows best and if you disagree your wrong, an idiot and dont know how to review.

1st - It was created when portions etc where starting about getting pogo players into OPR. While the vast majority where concerned about the idea most saw it as inevitable and in the end being sole up to Niantic. This is now starting to happen but with few details arm that may never be fully known (it is Niantic and it's what they do.

2nd - Playground etc on multi use land that doubles as a school (atleast in Baltimore). Everyone agreed (except TimerClock) that by being on school ground it took precedence over it being also used as a park, as a result no matter the POI it was irrelevant.

3 - Islands being ineligible because you can't walk there. That made 0 sense and people just kept saying as long as the island wasn't a small rock in the sea but actually that it had POI on it that could on arrival on tbe iland walk to them it was acceptable. Oh and than argued if it had a regular ferry that mad a difference, it doesn't.

4 - Picnic tables!!! Even though through it's listed as ineligible unless there is something significant about one and that a table is often prefaced with where it's located e.g. Kitchen table, dinning room table, coffee table, bedside table, picnic table. By it's name most would agree that it would be placed in a location to have a picnic (park, foreshore etc). Examplee give on what makes one significant was that it was placed under a tree, and that you call it a community blah blah. Most didn't see that as significant but the definition of common.

5 - currently a close up pic of some picture with people being referred to as idiot's for not approving it. Even though it's reasonable to assume no description was provided or that the pub might already be a portal.

Now if you have managed to real all that and am thing I wonder what credentials that individual has that he can go around calling people idiot's and tell people rhisnis whats acceptable.....

...nothing, he has don't less reviews than alot of the people trying to enlighten/educated him on submissions and His Wayfinder rating is in question. He does play Pogo and WU (Not really ingress)

  • I don't need too. It was named properly. It was submitted properly. And it was pretty as you all require and still rejections... Ridiculous additional criteria that is not required in reviews occurs. Niantic needs to hurry up and allow Pogo to have submissions to fix the system so people do follow the rules. Ingress reviewers are too crazy with rejections and not following criteria and adding even more criteria to reviews.

  • harkonnnenharkonnnen ✭✭✭✭

Again your wrong change your resonse

You tell people to review properly and take the time to do so but suddenly you can half **** submitting?? Some incredibly Hypocritical.

Yes you can take a dark picture at a play ground and just give it a title Quake Playground and it will likely be approved. But even in the guidelines tell you indoor ones are more likely to be rejected.
