Feel free to submit anything you want! That’s the great thing about submitting, you submit it then it’s reviewed my a global community of other players! They take their time and carefully review each waypoint suggested! Good luck but make sure to check out this video https://youtu.be/PPVXGrgzbbY
He has just noticed the "what is this" catagory that has been there the entire time and thinks that it's something other than a classification method.
PS your picnic tables are ineligible @TimerCIock but that doesn't mean all are. There are tables that are art. But also the "what is this" catagory is not an acceptance guide and your school district has failed you on a massive level.
I can't read 200 new post so I will just assume the rest are like the few I read....just submit whatever you want Timeclock. Yes it will 99% I'm sure get knocked back but that's how it works, its your right to submit, my right to label it trash. If you find your submissions that do come through have been moved onto the POI than thank your local OPR agents for doing a good job.
Significant isn't just artwork. Sites and scenes can be significant and have different categories in wayfarer. Picnic table versus community gathering spots and fishing spots with picnic tables. That elevates the use for the picnic table making it worthy...
How about YOU simple stop telling people how they should vote. You cast your vote, that you think it should be a portal when you submit it. The 12+ people cast there vote when they review it.
Not once have I seen in this thread you actually make a proper case for Your opinions to be viewed as anything more than that.
Really though for Pogo all these arguments about what's acceptable in a park are a moot point since I would wager that 95% would be in the same s17 cell as something that is long accepted (Well if the pin is placed on the POI and not 20 feet away from it).
Ironically. If you noticed, i am not spacing per 17 cells. I am spacing for Ingress/wizards spacing.... I am not mainly focused on pogo like everyone assumes.
What should I consider when answering “Should this be a Wayspot?”
Based on your initial impression of the nomination represented in the photo and the title/description, does the nomination seem like it would make a good Wayspot based on the acceptance criteria? This is not an overall rating for the nomination.
Should I consider proximity to nearby Wayspots when analyzing a nomination?
No. As long as the nomination is not a duplicate of an existing Wayspot, it is eligible to become a Wayspot.
Should I take nearby Wayspot density into account when analyzing a nomination?
As long as Wayspots aren't duplicates of one another and meet our acceptance criteria, they can be densely packed together. Some Wayspots may be filtered out if necessary.
Should the size of a nomination be taken into account?
Yes, a good Wayspot nomination should be relatively easy to locate in person. For smaller nominations, it may be difficult to verify their real-world location. If you come across a high-quality nomination that’s small in size, we recommend you use the supporting photo and description to provide more context on the nomination.
Should the sign for a Wayspot nomination be marked as a duplicate if there is already a Wayspot for the object the sign represents?
If the sign is a significant distance from the object then it should be considered on its own.sig·nif·i·cant
sufficiently great or important to be worthy of attention; noteworthy.
"a significant increase in sales"
having a particular meaning; indicative of something.
"in times of stress her dreams seemed to her especially significant"
That is per the dictionary. "Having a particular meaning indicative of something." Not naming a submission a Picnic Table and actually naming it a Community Seating Area or A Fishing Spot is exactly what guide is asking for.... Quit assuming everything has to be pretty.
Quit assuming density is the problem when it is not.... The problem is you don't know how to review.... So until someone proves they know how to submit properly.... Then I will be sitting here responding with the constant complaints that are OPR, as in the next 10 weeks, finally OPR bias will change with OPR being allowed in POGO.
I can call dog waste station a Rembrandt it doesn't change what it actually is. Titles matter, Descriptions matter, but if it's just a generic table than it still fails the criteria.
WHY do you think a Memorial Bench would get declined but a common table is suitable?
The only thing that looks to change is the bar will be lowered on what makes a good POI. It's Niantic baby it's there problem not mine. Who can say what changes have been made behind the scenes, could soon take twice as many reviewer's, the pass mark could have been raised etc etc or nothing who knows.
Description matter because you are describing the POI , what you suggested is why they now have an addition section to include such information.
A table with seats is by design a place for people to sit and perhaps eat. That doesn't give it any greater significance any more that a bench which again is designed for someone to sit on.
Just because a table is located in a public space doesn't make it of significance, if you want to keep posting shots of the guide why not the one that mentions the generic nature of them. (Ooops) If you actually read that the guide actually calls them picnic tables. So whats the difference when deciding exactly what defines a table as being "community seating areas" as oppose to a public table/bench?
I did include it. As significance is not just paint and pretty things. Significance can include being used in a site... A site elevates something to be portal worthy.
Someone sitting at a park, is not allowed? Get out of here. People of all ages play, and benches and tables are used by families..... Families using the community seating areas and fishing spots is significant use.... We are here to help the community learn the community....
Not if they fail immediately. Wayfarer presents the question of if it should be a Waypoint or not directly at the start of the review and doesn't allow any further analysis if it's a 1 star.
That is because you are choosing not to review fully. Guide doesn't say to instantly reject. It sayings they may be allowed if there is something significant about them. Meaning you are supposed to review them fully and wayfarer will decide. You are choosing to view as it only as a picnic table, when you are not reading the title which creates a site..... Picnic Site is a public space used by the community and allowed as it is a community gathering spot, and the reason it is in "What is this".
Per the guide do not submit common things in parks like Picnic Tables. THAT IS VERY CLEAR. If you consider people sitting at it Significant than ALL and I mean all Picnic tables then magically qualify.
If you spent more time reviewing than here you would know that IT DOES MATTER. A picture and a title is one thing but the detailed information that's provided to the reviewer in the description can greatly impact what a submission gets rated as.
Also the description is included when the submission goes live so if you want to help and inform the community than you would include one. If you put effort into your submissions you would research a little before submitting e.g.
John Smith park - why is it named that, when, some features the park includes. How doesn't that matter and important compared to writing nothing or something generic

Dog poop and park rule signs have a criteria! Informational signs.
And..... Picnic tables and picnic sites are in wayfarer.
You must have me confused with somebody else
Okay. It has its own what is this category.... they should be reviewed....

They do get reviewed. With a 1 star.
They are a one star on visually, but you are still to do a full review...

Tell me how a Picnic Table is actually significant besides you wanting to sit down and spin a PokeStop.

Descriptions do not matter. For a description I can tell you what the criteria it falls under and it is allowed.
Generic tables are allowed if you have defined significant use for them.
Being submitted as community seating areas and fishing spots are allowed! As that gives significant use for the picnic table to be used as a site....
The only thing that looks to change is the bar will be lowered on what makes a good POI. It's Niantic baby it's there problem not mine.
