Okay so the flag on the Bar, get closer up better shot that doesn’t show the entire wall, that is a lower quality photo. In the description say it’s a hand painted flag and provide a history like who the artist was or how long it’s been there.

Regardless of all my advice there was a different reason this portal was an instant 1* and you really need to figure that out to better understand rejections.

Edit: Okay wow the word s h o t is flagged come on Niantic, i was talking about a better picture.... @NianticCasey Can you please look into some of these ridiculous text flags the forum has.
You clearly have no idea what 'A few feet is' Also that meant as a margin for error in OPR not in submitting
Notice how often Real World Location is used and clearly how important it is?
Also how you keep saying 'be able to visually see' but you conveniently leave out the continuation 'Be able to visually see and experience the Portal Candidate when they visit the Real- World Location.
Ignorance that the use of portals for the community is better on sidewalks? Uh that is the point of me as an agent. To help my community learn the community....
Correct. You have been refuted multiple times, and continue to refuse to accept the facts. That is the definition of "willful ignorance". That makes you, in effect, as effective as any other "internet troll".
Thanks for pointing out.... We have hit an achievement. 1k comments on a thread for Ingress OPR Forums..... That should be a highlight and a saved Thread.....
First sentence in OPR Help.... Agents are to help the community learn the community..... How am I not trying to help my community with having access to portals that would help my community? Because I disagree with your logic? Because I follow the rules that are written in OPR? Idiotic. Niantic can change the help in OPR if they feel I am doing something wrong. But as it stands, sidewalks are a public space.... And you are allowed to be a few feet away from the poi as written in OPR help.
You are not helping by continuing to espouse falsehoods. You're using the same tactic as other wild (and incorrect) conspiracies, which include:
climate change denial (the warming trends are continuing)
antivaxxers (measles is now spreading)
flatearthers (no final frontier for you)
maple leafs supporters (50+ years and counting -- but I'll give you THIS one, it's still "possible")
The simple tactic being, even though proven incorrect, you ignore our evidence, read things that aren't there, and continuously distract and change the subject.
Irony, the world is allowed to have freedom of speech.... Especially in America.... God Bless America.... Here need a picture of a valid submission....
No one here can resists arguing with a bad faith actor. If we all just posted cat pictures we could live in a glorious paradise, but we are all bound by hubris.
I'm guilty of that, I can't help myself sometimes when someone says something so obviously wrong, even though it's clear no amount of evidence or logic will get him to see reason
I just wanted to show how "someone" was incorrectly moving the PIN for a submission, and how the correct placement of the POI would make it invalid. No matter what time of the day it was!
No you guys don't.... I can guarantee you have plenty of submissions where you moved a portal to on top of the exact location that does not have pedestrian access as a result, yet still approved it.... Prime example.... @imseethru his favorite portal has to be reach by a canoe or boat only..... Yet players are rejecting boat ramps and piers.... Hmm if it is impossible to get too without pedestrian access how is that OPR reviewers caring about pedestrian access.
Its simple, if the POI doesnt have PED access then its not submitable. So if they move the PIN to the POI and the POI doesnt have PED access it should be denied. PED access isnt determined where the Pin is but where the POI is....
I'm saddened by the timing of this. I've YET to be able to post a question on his AMA threads, because I'm either sleeping or working. Last month's I had about 10 minutes' notice (thanks to Reddit) but it was already closed before I had a chance to submit anything.
"later tonight Pacific time" is guaranteed to be, again, when I'm away from a computer. Can I ask a favour? I've got ONE specific question re: opr but will need a proxy to post for me:
Q: It is becoming increasingly obvious that too many OPR reviewers are not reviewing correctly. Now that we can see some of the reasons they are using to reject a submission, we're utterly boggled at times.
One specific example of mine, there is a mural inside a store. The mural is not the store, it's not even advertising for the store, it is obviously hand-painted art. Yet the rejection reason here is "Generic business".
Can we ever hope in the future, as a submitter, to flag some of our rejected submissions for "OPR abuse"? With the eventual goal being to help educate these misguided reviewers?

You can visually see and use a playground or a sports field from the sidewalks a lot easier than directly on them....
@RedSoloCup @NianticCasey please make the bad man stop. We're already at over 1000 comments, where he continues to demonstrate his willful ignorance.
How is that exactly? Did you re-read that before you posted it?
How can you (or your kids) USE a play ground or a sports field from the sidewalk?
Ignorance that the use of portals for the community is better on sidewalks? Uh that is the point of me as an agent. To help my community learn the community....
if you want the bad man to stop, stop feeding him comments to respond to

That would work, except that I've learned that he continues anyway.

A few of you have asked about the AMA. It'll be posted later tonight (Pacific time).
Irony, the world is allowed to have freedom of speech.... Especially in America.... God Bless America.... Here need a picture of a valid submission....
Thank you for posting that!
I think this one is valid but again, I would just name it "Cross Roads Ministries" that is the title that will most likely get approved.
Because people keep feeding the troll
No one here can resists arguing with a bad faith actor. If we all just posted cat pictures we could live in a glorious paradise, but we are all bound by hubris.
Legitimately ignoring him just spreads the infection to other posts. At least currently he is contained to 2 threads only.
He used to be contained to one.
It WAS only one thread, until somebody decided to poke the bear *cough*@Mickster*cough*
I'm guilty of that, I can't help myself sometimes when someone says something so obviously wrong, even though it's clear no amount of evidence or logic will get him to see reason
Hey! I saw that!
I just wanted to show how "someone" was incorrectly moving the PIN for a submission, and how the correct placement of the POI would make it invalid. No matter what time of the day it was!
Literally no one said we don't care about pedestrian access. We care about both pedestrian access and accurate pin location.
Oh just an update since the title of the mess and well the 'discussion' is off the rails lol
The Petition has got a Massive.......3250 signatures Woot Woot
With 250 added in the last 6 days.......
