Cooldown literally means the system thinks you are reviewing poorly and is forcing you to take a break. Cooldown means you are reviewing the same way over and over and over.
Not every portal is a 5 5 5 5 5 5 or even a 1, portals ratings vary based on what we can observe. Whether its less visually unique or more visually unique, well maintained or destroyed. Like If I see a Baseball Field with 10 ft weeds, I am going to reject because clearly its not used as a Baseball Field anymore.
No matter what you say, I know by reviewing more candidates I am helping others out.
That is your opinion. In the end of the day, it's still a baseball Field. If you vote a 1star on something that is approved per guide for an auto rejection, that defeats the purpose of an accepted portal.
The spawn adjustment this past week didn't increase spawns at parks.... It was an update to the back-end of OSM and to the cellular data used. Some parks may have gone up and some may have gone down. Areas with good OSM mapping with accurate walking trails and sidewalks got more spawns. Brand new neighborhoods that hadn't had spawns before because cellular data was out dated got more. Areas that were older and had a lot of existing spawns did lose spawns, this could have affected residential, business, or parks.
So please before you cite something as fact do your research. The spawn change wasn't to remove spawns from PRP.
Unrelated question, If its clearly a baseball field than yes I would approve. Rain/Snow doesnt affect a portals merit. Something not well maintained like a lot of rust or overgrown weeds does.
Example, I found a baseball field on the sat view nearby where I live, I drove out to get some pictures to submit. I got there and it was in complete disrepair with little trees growing on the field. Despite all that you could clearly tell it was a baseball field. Im not going to submit something that is no longer used for its function.
Actually they update was OSM and Cellular, just because the OSM Visuals doesnt change doesnt mean they didnt update to a more recent file for the recently updated side walks/walking trails. They do this every so often, usually 2-3 times a year.
EDIT: Visuals for PoGo OSM data hasnt updated since 2017, they probably dont really do this unless theres a major need. This is because people are aware of the impact of OSM on Pogo so might try to add crazy things into the visuals.
They didn't target parks, it was a widespread update to all areas, whether good or bad. Some parks decreased some increased. Since you sound so confident I am assuming your park increased, good for you. However, not all parks were so lucky, I had one lose about half its spawn points.
From woodwosewolf, a well known OSM mapper for years.
They went from redacted data to prime data, is my thought on everything. We have already confirmed with others.
They decreased large clusters so if large parks that had massive clusters, they should of reduced them but picked up more spawns at the portals at the same time.
We did however have a lot of resident spawns removed which hurts my area and player base isn't happy, but you have to start somewhere. Removing some from prp, they didn't remove all. Redistribution to other areas that are not prp, similar to wizards, was what happen. I'm starting to think wizards is also based on prime data, but they for sure reduced prp spawns with the change. Updating to new data in lieu of redacted data is a positive though, especially since redacted is gone in 3 days. Only can get better from here.
Them actually doing something is great. Updates for mapping and xm data should be more regular, and updated every 3 months instead of 1 to 2 times a year. Game maps should be updated and synced together for games because that is what players are looking at. That is where they are judging the location from for the submissions.
And I can confirm that there were changes to the spawn points based on Walking Trails and Sidewalks from OSM. Again it was both Cellular and OSM while the OSM might have only been data based on walking paths.
Edit: I mapped my whole town, without adding random Marshlands or Parks on school grounds.
P.S... I never added wetlands to schools. If you actually want the break down on that... Wetlands were added by Gabriel0322. (It is easier to say Gabriel because people recognize the player name instead of Chris. His son Gabriel plays his own accounts of Gabriel03221. Different phones, different phone numbers, same model of samsung s10e for all 3 of us.) property because he owns water front property and parks on the water. There was a debate on OSM that things that existed on the property people couldn't see until a map update occured in OSM. The wetlands they are still drawn incorrect and going off a website that is still out of date. This was resolved with local mappers because we took pictures of the whole waterfront and showed the wetlands (Phragmites) do exist all around the waterfront.... Which is not surprisingly, considering the Chesapeake Bay has millions of wetlands that were never drawn. Wetland websites are not as update as some satellite feeds in OSM. Woodwosewolf, actually complimented Gabriel0322 on his mapping that he did for the Dundalk area.
That has nothing to do with the post! Stick to it lol
PD: I had that problem yesterday, its not a pogo issue, its probably an iOS issue with iOS13, since I updated few days agor and it was the first POI i sent.
After reading all this messages since yesterday I can tell TimerClock its someone who believes he is correct with conspiracy theories, even showing him evidence he will just not admit it, this post is a waste of our time. He does not do OPR, he wants to approve all garbage, his main account was banned, he bought an accout L12 probably booted and spoofed and he wants to change what a POI means. Moving on...
My community parks got decimated. Should I use Gabriel logic and assume that Niantic doesn't want people to play in parks because of that? No because that's not how anything works. Things were added to PRP things were removed. None of it has anything to do with OPR and how we should review.
Things you might have missed over the past month he has claimed he was Chris a 36 Year Old Man who had a heart attack, then later after being called out by a local player he claims he is Chris' Mom a 64 year old who also works construction.

Neither does being the last one who manages to get a word in win you the argument. This is not, after all, reddit.
Ironically, the amount of time the majority of people in this thread have spent arguing at a lone individual's opinion? If you'd spent your time reviewing portals in OPR instead of all this time wasted reading and refuting, that could have been several dozens of reviews done, at minimum. Each! Think of the portals, man. Think of the portals!
It should because you should be focusing on submissions away from prp. Depending where the new spawn points are for your area, it would help the games with portal submissions being submitted in areas that are lacking. If your parks are reduced you should be increasing your portals. Parks are public space, and a area they want people at.
It is inevitable that pokemon will have OPR eventually.
It is already in game that certain areas of world already has pokemon submissions, yet people want to think the rest of the world won't?
It is proven that niantic wants people at parks. If they didn't why would they have nests associated with them.
It is proven there was no OSM update for upgrades after march of 2019 updates to osm.
It is proven that niantic is already updating pokemon go submission process to fix rotated pictures.
It is proven that opr reviews pokemon go submissions which does effect opr.
So.... instead of ignoring the facts, niantic should make pokemon submissions better by adding opr to those players who can submit, if they can pass the test.... more people less time on waiting for return submissions.
So originally I was trying to get a logical discussion going but it's always derailed by ingress players because ingress players aren't logical for opr. Its oh look at this pretty thing that no one in the real world can get too. Because you can only fit so many people on a sidewalk in a city. (Yet reviewers don't ever think emergency services issues with city sidewalks. Parks are designed to have lots of people at them as public spaces, yet you don't want parks to grow more with more portals like they should be....) this is why opr needs to be opened. More people need opinions to disagree with stubborn and set in their ways ingress players.
Here is what reviewing your approved portals look like in game. If you notice you barely even see the picture of the portal, and in ingress the image disappears very fast... In gyms and fortresses it's even less noticable. Yet you reject a lot of submissions on some overly ridiculous rules.
You literally have to go out your way to even find the description that no one uses or cares about.
Gamers only care about one thing, playing the game, and areas they can enjoy. Reviewers say no to pokemon players but niantic has already said yes it's coming because areas already have it. So quit complaining get on bored and start working together.
I still think submissions should have check boxes to help reviewers understand which game they are intended for.
I still think in settings in opr there should be away to link your accounts to the other games.
I still think badges should be created in all 3 games.
I still think guide will have major changes coming when its updated.
I still think game maps should be updated because if you can see water shore lines in ingress but can in others that is a safety risk for the players you say you are concerned about. (Including kids because when they are zoned into the game they don't care as much about the surroundings.)
I still think OSM should be updated to the current updates, with a regular schedule because construction around the world goes on daily and areas change more than once.

We are getting ready to be in snow weather. Would you reject a portal because snow is on it? Eventhough you can still tell it's a baseball field?
Same for you. They didn't update OSM yet. They did remove large clusters and reallocated the spawns, parks was one area that did in fact increase.
Another thing they are fixing is pokemon submissions for photo orientation. I bet some other things do come in today as well.
Unrelated question, If its clearly a baseball field than yes I would approve. Rain/Snow doesnt affect a portals merit. Something not well maintained like a lot of rust or overgrown weeds does.

It was a baseball field taken over by the fae. Be careful not to catch a foul coming from seemingly nowhere or else you might not be able to leave.

It's weird there are so many Pokemon Go topics not related to OPR or the article being discussed in this thread.
When did you map your town?
P.S... I never added wetlands to schools. If you actually want the break down on that... Wetlands were added by Gabriel0322. OPR is affected by Pokemon Go because Pokemon Go does submit submissions to be reviewed by OPR. Therefore it should be discussed between reviewers....
The Marshland and parks were 2 separate statements.
Second, I have slowly mapped my town over the past 2 and a half years. Some as recent as August.
@TimerCIock How you would rate the following:
Should this be a Portal: 1-5
Is the Title accurate: 1-5
Is is historically or culturally relevant: 1-5
Is it visually Unique: 1-5
Is the location accurate: 1-5
Can it be safely accessed: 1-5
I can say it is not a duplicate, and the tag is directly on the garden, its also in a neighborhood park area.
That has nothing to do with the post! Stick to it lol

It does if it is going to affect opr with more submissions or less submissions for a few days.
It should because you should be focusing on submissions away from prp. Still upset, I was able to flip as easy as everyone did to me so many times? Nice the world of sarcasm continues.
Honestly, your updates for OSM opinion could of been an older version because they are not 2019 updates for OSM.
No sarcasm there. You literally have claimed you are now multiple people. One questions, have you told your mommy you are pretending to be her online?
Im reviewing between comments, I still sadly cap out every day :)
