Why is prime so pixellated?
The scanner in prime has jagged edges everywhere. I could render a straight line better in MS paint.
Look at these links and roads in prime (top) compared to redacted (bottom) sure, there is some pixelation on the roads in redacted, but it looks a lot worse in prime
Also, great job on fixing the compass, but could it maybe point to north in the game, instead of being stuck pointing upwards all the time?

It depends on your device. If you use a better phone, the lines are smooth.
If you use a better phone, the compass works as well.
However, there does seem to be some inconsistency in how Prime antialiases the lines in the game. There's an internal switch somewhere that turns high-quality graphics on, and it doesn't always seem to be set right. Of course the player can't flip that switch him or herself - that would be too easy.
Ye on my P30 Pro its pretty smooth but after upgrading to Android 10 its like you say, I had to downgrade back to Android 9 :\
Year old beta app did have really smooth lines, they did something with public release app:

Oh, well, I'll just run out and get a better....
No, wait. If I get a better phone, they'lll decide that everyone has superior memory, storage, battery, and therefore we can start this whole process again.
I'd get it if the graphics were better, and there was just more lag. I'd get it if we were still betta testing it.
But here we are not one week away from the redactapocaltpse, and prime still cannot perform basic functions that redacted does just fine. The graphics are still better on redacted. The controls are still better on redacted.
The only thing prime has is a platform that will still be supported.
Yeah I find this really annoying because prime would look so nice without the jagged lines (which is the result of no anti aliasing). I believe they removed it because it makes old phones run prime better.
So... they want to squeeze old phones out?
Devil's advocate here. You're using 2 completely different angles to compare things here. Your zoomed out birdseye view on Prime won't look as good as one similar to the view you used for redacted.
Very pixellated on links and more on high end mobile. I have Samsung Galaxy S10+ with Exynos. I hope Niantic fix it soon.
Devils advocate: overhead view is all redacted offers. Getting the exact same angle may not be possible. The pixelation is still self-evident.
