How many people have failed the test in OPR?

I am curious about this, a newly agent lvl12 failed the test and now has to wait 30 days for take it again, he claims he dont understand what could he done wrong and he has a decent ammount of candidates accepted

Ofc i just laughed and told him there is nothing to do other than wait a whole month, then he asked what happen if he fails again and told him you are locked out of opr because he dont seem to understand since there is no feedback about your test, he is like there was a cool granite water thing but photo was blurry i put no, and a natural mount, etc i wont go in detail with his stuff, he even asked me to be with him when he retake it again and i just laughed harder

Is there really agents lvl 12 who failed the test twice and cant do opr?

    why would you laugh, that's so mean ;~;

  • i just really didnt got any answer to this: ''hey man i failed this test in the opr page'' and i was like ''looooool'' for real, the guy has portals accepted as well denied ofc but he doesnt seem to not understand the simple guidelines, then he was like telling me about it while we walked playing, he was like disappointed that he failed because he didnt understand why and the test dont give a feedback, so i was just like laughing he didnt even play i was the one playing while walking, and started to tell me about the stuff that appeared and he didnt understand, a bell in primary looks like school, something in the yard of a school, something in a fire station, a granite water thing, mount fiji, and etc then he finished with ''be with me the next time'' omfg made my day, the way he said it, but yeah he was kind of sad he felt stupid i supose so i started to think ''is there really people who fail this test?'' so i just told him, lets see in 30 days next time take your time dont hurry even when is a clear answer

anyway, it was funny as hell, who fails this thing? is there really a big ammount if fails? people who if you coudlve teach them properly and given feedback could be a good soldier in opr but are locked out? got me wondering about

  • As I understand it, no, you cannot take the exam more than twice.

I haven't taken the test yet myself. But if portal appeals are any indication, the areas that could trip people up the most are objects on the edges of PRP or schools, objects that do not meet the requirements for having safe pedestrian access, and objects in restricted/limited access areas.

  • Yes, there are. Yes, you are forever locked out of OPR if you failed it twice.

And I pity him for getting laughed at by you. Another's suffering shouldn't be a source of happiness.

  • I was nervous I was going to fail. I had a bunch of oddball stuff from Spain, and I live in the US. I kept thinking I was going to miss stuff because of regional differences, like not recognizing a playground was part of a school.

Wait??? How do you fail that test?

  • for real? i mean being honest that is a bad system, 10 question quiz shouldnt determine something like that, a test is mean to help you and give you feedback but apparently it does zero of that (no idea how is the current quiz) especially when is an agent with approved portals doing itm if he fails again and get locked out he might just stop playing or even create another account stopping playing his current one, the main problem he see is he gets in blank about a feedback, just a ''you failed come back 30 days later'' and is ''nervous'' about failing twice, i told him ''is just a game'' but he answered ''opr is part of the game''

However, i laughed because its funny as hell, and is my friend so we joke around he doesnt get more sad that it was already anyway, but he just out of nowhere ''hey man i failed this test in the opr page'' it was lol

  • probably some tricky question get an agent, i would supose if you dont get 6-7 right you dont pass or who knows, is a quiz of 10 questions with zero feedback and niantic has never said anything i think about it

but yeah, i didnt expect somebody to fail especially when has been sending portals according to the guidelines and have approved ones

  • Judging by some of the submitted portals I review, some of the approved portals I see, and some of the denied portals I hear about, there must be some folks who fail.

  • I failed my first attempt, and managed to pass my 2nd attempt.

Try taking the test with Intel map. During test, quick search the Portal title in Intel map. If it appears, the Portal belongs to the legit category, and you make your decision according to the question's context.

    Just a suggestion.

  • Vou fazer o teste da OPR. Quantas preguntas pode errar? Voces tem dicas ou sugestões para fazer o teste?

That you needed to cheat to pass the test is concerning

  • At this point i would even suggest not locking people out of opr just because failed the quiz, better train them and point them out their errors so they can join laters, isnt like opr doesnt need more people

  • KliffingtonKliffington ✭✭✭✭✭

No if you can't pass a very easy test you absolutely should not be in OPR

  • There is people who passed the quiz and definately shouldnt be in OPR...but they are, you cant know if the people who failed had good intentions or are just bad at tests, that is why i said, point them out their errors, take training again, quiz again, whatever, but telling me ''get out and never come back'' not even universities unless you are kicked out for some good reasons like you could compare it to abuse in opr

  • KliffingtonKliffington ✭✭✭✭✭

Ok but the test is literally reviewing based on guidelines. If you can't do that at the basic level of the test you should not be reviewing. Some opr agents don't adhere to newer or vague criteria that has been clarified in outside sources and some just blatantly abuse power but still if you can't get pass the fundamentals in the simple test that is exactly the same as the task you are testing for, you shouldn't be reviewing.

  • I failed it the very first time when OPR just became available to Lv13s

  • A local player in my area took the test last night and shared some of the questions with myself and another player. It was significantly more difficult than when I took it 3-ish years ago. The other player took the test 2 months ago and said it was harder even than when he had taken it.

I think most people on this forum don't have a good idea of the current level of difficulty and I think it's an encouraging sign that Niantic is making it tougher. Hopefully soon they'll further widen the pool of eligible reviewers.

I took it June 1st so unless its vastly changed in 4 months, it was probably the easiest test I've taken in my life.

  • I think that it has changed a good bit even in that time period. I'm curious about what questions you saw but I don't think it's appropriate to post them publicly.

  • AgentB0ssAgentB0ss ✭✭✭✭✭

I only had 1 "difficult" one and I believe its because the questions wernt updated but the streetview was, but i was able to answer it based on the context of the question alone.

I took the test last Saturday and half of the questions I had involved location accuracy, such as if the location should be 1*, 3* or 5*.

There isn't any right or wrong doings... It's about how one choose to utilise his/her resource in getting a work done. In this case, a reference to assist in decision making.

Throughout the OPR review process, reviewers can use the Internet to validate the existence of a Portal Candidate. The use of a reference to assist in decision making is legit.

Nevertheless, I have moved on, and have maintained above 80% agreement rate throughout.

Agreement rate = ((Portals Created + Portals Rejected) / (Total Portal Analyzed - Total Edit Analyzed)) * 100

Yes, I do track my edit review counts.

  • I failed the OPR test 3 weeks ago, and made me stop playing the game because of the frustation of zero feedback, i wanted to get into OPR for the following reasons:

1.- work in upgrades so my submissions dont stay in the limbo for the eternity, have send 15, 3 accepted, 1 rejected, 11 in who knows when will get answer

2.- work towards a new medal because i like medals (yeah oh well)

3.- help communities in reviewing process

After the fail, i was just told ''come back 30 days later for try again'' whats so over i dont really know what did i fail, was pretty sure everything was correctly, was that fire station really to be accepted? was that lake really to be accepted? was the statue with no pedestrian access really to be accepted? was the soccer field really to not be accepted?i wont ever know because i dont have the results so i cant see my errors, anyway i guess is all blame on me then? who knows but i supose if i fail again i wont play again i felt so alienated and frustated i supose anyway like some people say opr is boring and not worth but still i guess not being able to not even participate is felt different than not wanting to

failed OPR before. i did answer it honestly.

waited 30 days before trying again. now answered it according to guidelines instead.

    no looking back now.

please...stop with the Pogo inspired name for portals. it was funny for the first 10 times, but then it was a bore quickly and annoying af.

I can understand your frustration, but I can also see why they wont give you feedback.

The guide, and help info should be enough for you to pass as once you do pass your out to do OPR on your own, you won't be given any feedback about if your choices were right or not, the only indicator is if the raiting you have is either Poor Good or Great.

If you slip into poor, you wont be told what you've done wrong, or how to change how you are reviewing to fix it, so I can see why they dont give feedback on the test, as it portrays the lack of feedback you'll get doing OPR

  • Here is the thing. They give you all the information you need to answer the questions on the test. It is important to study it thoroughly. If you don't feel confident in your answers, it is better to study for longer before you take the test. I passed, but then I am anal about studying for tests.

If you don't pass, spend those 30 days studying amd you should be good. It isn't enough to know what types of portal are in the system as the rules have changed over time so there are existing portals that would not pass with current rules. Don't try to wing it. Study.

If you don't pass, it isn't the end of the world. You can still SUBMIT portals, just not vote on them.
