I love that Niantic hasn't replied to or addressed pretty much any of the issues raised by the community so far.
I imagine they have lawyers looking into it so cannot comment at this time.
It's been an entire week. There's only 3 weeks to go.
My money is on them just hoping it'll blow over and we forget about it or something.
My worry is that some cities which gave permission for a free event will pull the plug at the last minute when they find out Niantic is now charging.
Especially with how a lot of Agents despise xfac events, or just want to spite NIA in general right now, I wouldn't be surprised if agents told cities of Niantic's recent financial gross.
I imagine Niantic will try to get away with it until the community starts pulling the blanket away under them, by having their events shut down. 😒
Agreeing with everything said above! As an original player, I've witnessed it all... where would any of your new money makers be without your dedicated ones players? No pokestops? No castles(or whatever they are called) NO INCOME! I've spent more money on a free game called ingress than I have in pay to play games!!! It's been great fun and ive met great people but this pay for anomalies at the last minute leaves a bad taste... very disappointing
Wow very clear and intriguing to learn more about laws and rules around events in other countries.
Thankyou for posting this. Very insightful.
so many thanks for meaningful answers, dear officials.
